Satan told God what he would do, as he is a liar (Jhn. 8:44, Gen 3:1) when God had asked in the counsel of Heaven (where the other representative heads of the unfallen worlds were and the angels of Heaven are, see Luk. 15:7, etc). God knowing all things, told satan that he would indeed accomplish what he stated through his lie.
God allowed it (for satan has limited authority, see Luk. 22:31), thus the scriptures attribute that decision to God. This deals with the will of God, in the matter of the great controversy going on since Lucifer's accusations against God in Heaven (between truth and lies). God withdraws protection for those who refuse His protection through disobedience, and leaves those who want darkness, in darkness (God gives them up, Rom. 1:24-26). God is love (1 Jhn 4:8,16) and is the God of truth (Deut. 32:4).

No, no need to fly (though that is not ruled out, in several ways). Walking and ship (taken by man, who was able to cross the new landscape of the earth even shortly after the flood, just as today, with such animals in zoos, and 'exotic' animal introduction to certain islands, etc) will do just fine, as the creatures would spread out from where they landed (the only ones that died right away were the clean ones that Noah sacrificed), and would have a longer lifespan unlike those of today. A rough comparison could be made between the ages of men before and after the flood, and a similar extrapolated listing for the animals based upon todays longevities.

When the Hebrews were redoing the history of the Israelites they knew nothing of science, evolution or a huge round planet with lots of other cultures and living things. Their creation flood story was for the average, simple minded Israelite.

There is no secular history of the Hebrews because they destroyed all of it even though those books are still mentioned in their scripture.Yet, every one of these subjects has “men of reason” defending their ideas, even till today. Why would someone feel the need to make up such an imaginative story in the first place, if it was not true and they were just trying to sway the simple-minded as you suggest?
