Scripture replaces that. Today people hear voices in their heads and think it is God but scripture rules this out.

I’m guessing the fear of sleeping in a church at night would probably be higher in more traditional churches. Maybe it’s the statues.

Scripture is Jesus speaking. You cannot understand it unless Christ reveals it.

The Church, collectively speaking, is considered the Bride of Christ.

We believers are in an espousal relationship with Jesus.

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Israel is considered to be God's [estranged?] wife.
