I have a good friend that is trying to convert to Christiananity due to some recent life events. She feels that her god (Allah) is not real now. She's giving Christinanity a try. However, she was a VERY devoted Muslim and is having an EXTREMELY hard time accepting Christ into her heart. One of the main teachings of Islam is that Jesus is not god and they even point to several places in the Bible which confirm this. She wants to believe in Jesus, but it's very difficult for her.

Having said that, I need all of you to pray for her. I also would like to request any links to some information that will help her to believe that Jesus is God and to accept the concept of the Trinity.

I feel this is vital as I have been trying to get her to convert for about 8 years. This is the one chance I have. I feel if she cannot accept Jesus into her heart, she will go back to Islam very shortly.

Thanks!

Take her through the 10 Commandments. The muslims accept Moses as a prophet, take her through them and show her that she is guilty of the Law. Then give her verses like "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law being made a curse for us" show her that Christ saved her. And then, let God do the rest.

All she needs to do to become a Christian is believe that God rose Jesus from the dead and confess with her mouth that he is Lord. Get her to do that before you try to make her understand the Trinity. Few (very mature Christians even) fully understand the trinity. YOU DO NOT have to understand the Trinity, the Hypostic Union, etc. to become a Christian. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!! Please share with us what verses she uses to show that Christ is not God.

I will try and find out what versuses she is referring to. But you know the interesting thing about this is that although Muslims discount the Bible because they claim it is currupt, they also use it to point out things that supposedly help the Muslim cause. So let me get this straight, you don't beleive in something, but you use that very same thing to prove your point of view?? I just don't get Muslims... If the Bible is currupt, then why do they routinely refer to it?

I know what you are saying. Of all people I have ever had religous discussions with online, Muslems (Muhammadists as I like to refer to them) refer to the Bible just as much as if not more than most Believers. That's sad.

I have to agree, the trinity is hard to explain/understand..
and I didnt know that before I was saved - but once she believes and the Holy Spirit starts working in her life, then she will have no problem with the rest.

Once in awhile a doubting thought crosses my mind (satan) and I said noone can make me doubt, I have felt the Holy Spirit and I know what I beleive is real..
Can she come to CF? and ask questions here on the forum?

Be there for her
God Bless you!

Brother C Brown:
Please allow me to address you as a brother until I know your gender.

That Jesus is a God is almost everywhere in the gospel. Let me give you several examples.

1) Thomas, a man, called him God.

2) Demons called him the Son of God.

3) Wind and sea obeyed Jesus' command.

4) He gave up his spirit on the cross:
Can a man give up his spirit? (The life of a body is in the spirit) Can your friend say, "I am going to give up my life tomorrow at 3 am," and die at that moment? She cannnot because she does not own her spirit. Only a God can give up his spirit and take up his spirit again. That's what Jesus said and did.

5) Can anyone tell a tree to wither and the tree withers to death?

6) Can any mortal tell a man to walk on the water and he walks?

7) Can any mortal perceive in his spirit what others think before they speak?

8) Has any man commanded a corpse to live and the corpse lived? Doesn't this prove that Jesus is the owner of all lives and therefore a God?

9) Can any man die for others and wipe out their sins and guilt?

10) Can a mortal love another mortal as Jesus did?

11) Can your friend say to a demon, "Come out," and the demon comes out?

12) If a woman touched Jesus' garment and got healed, was Jesus a man or a God?

13) Jesus said, "I give you peace." When her mind is in trouble, can she go to an imam or a holy man, and ask for peace, and she gets peace? Does a mortal give out peace?

14) Can a man be betrayed by all his followers, even the colsest one, and still hold peace?

15) Do angels wait on a mortal?

16) Unless Jesus is a God, how can he come and go at his will between the past and the present? (She can read "The Torn Veil" written by a Pakistanese woman who became a believer of Jesus)

Brother C Brown,
If you think you are the one whom God chose to open your friend's eyes, immerse yourself in Jesus' words so that you can deliver Bible messages to her. I pray for you so that you can complete your assignment, and also for her for her salvation.

A book by a former Muslim might help her. The book is "Islam Reviewed" by M. Ali. It is one of the best books I have ever read and is small and inexpensive. I saw it recently at half.com for as little as $3.30 (not including shipping).
It exposes Muhammed and the Koran for what they are and gives the correlating scriptures of the Bible to verses in the Koran that are erroneous plagerisms of the Jewish belief and Nestorian Christian belief of his time. He was interested in unifying the numerous tribes of the Arabs who worshipped Ka'aba, a religion of 360 false gods in which the one his father worshipped became the one he claimed for his false religion - allah.

The best way to minister to Muslims, and I can speak from a place of experience, is to build bridges between the two faiths. For example, the Koran INSTRUCTS Muslims to read the Bible. The Koran acknowledges Jesus, but denies he was crucified to the point of death - the Muslim belief is that Jesus was taken down from the Cross alive... show the apologetic evidence of this (Do a search for Malcom McDowell, he has some good stuff)

I could speak for hours on the subject, but it is up to you (if you are that concerned for your friends soul) to do the research, and show her how Christianity is the correct relationship with God.

The following post is some notes from a recent Islam conference.

Session 2

· How to introduce the bible to a Muslim.

· Everybody who doesn't confess Jesus as Lord is against him.

· Torah is good etc

· They reject the bible for a number of reasons.

· Textual reasons... Introduction to the koran and the Hadith... The general beliefs about abrogation... The qur'anic and Sunna teaching about abrogation... The dogma of abrogation and terrorism

· They believe God sent prophets. Each time a new prophet (with religion and book)... Every time a new religion is sent, it cancels out the last book.

· Dont agree with resurrection and trinity.

· DO NOT USE CHRISTIAN TERMINOLOGY until you have reached approval.

· Simple introduction: Two Parts; The Jewish Book/The Christian book, The Torah, Al-Zabour, Linjila, The NT and The OT.

· It is difficult for them to understand why we accept the OT.

· The Bible was "revealed" or "Given" to the prophets. Once understood then introduce "inspired"

· You NEED to know the history of the bible.

· The start of Abraham etc.

· Explain Genesis, Exodus (Moses free from Egypt), Leviticus (Law), Deuteronomy (Law),

· Intro NT with Jesus. NOT death etc... Given by God to the Apostles.

· The uniqueness of the bible.

· 40 people were trusted, by God, to write down... Prophets and Apostles over 1500 years.

· Moses choose to follow God, after being a prince, etc.

· Contrast with David etc. Solomon 980BC etc.

· NT written by uneducated men etc.

· No contradictions with sin, Gods sovereignty, etc... Harmony, even with contrasting backgrounds etc. Today you will NOT find harmony with ppl of such different backgrounds, and moods etc.

· Old testimony prophecies and its fulfillment in Jesus

· Micah 5:2, Luke 2:1-7, Matthew 2:4...etc. 680BC

· 130 prophecies of Jesus in OT. 109 fulfilled. As certain as salt in sea!

· If one part of the propecy is true, we can trust the rest. Take the propecy about Jesus birth, we can trust the rest of the prophecies that he is the son of god. Muslims believe in the virgin birth.

· Stop here with kenya

· What the Bible says about itself. Deu 6:1-9, 1 Pet 1:20-21, 1 Tim 3:16, etc

· The Testimonies of Manuscript

· John Ryland library papyrus, Codex Sinalticus, Magdalen College Manuscript (Oxford), Barcelona....

· AD 135, the third copy from Asia Minor... The original was written before AD 100. Therefore it was written before Paul. -- JR

· AD 60. Matthew was eye-witness! The book of Matthew is defo real -- Magdalen.

· Original NT found in Sinai. Pre-Islam by 200years. Written on Gazell skins.

· The archaeological evidence

· Joshua 6:20... The walls of Jerico, they said it was not true. However they have discovered the fence fell flat, like an earthquake. Dug Up.

· Daniel 5:5... Claimed Daniel was after AD! Dead Sea Scrolls prove this wrong! Prayer found in desert, now in British Museum.

· Gergesa... Matthew 8:28-34, Mark 5:1-13, Luke 8:26-39. Demons were psychological. They couldn't find Gergesa! 1974, digging for new roads. Found a stone cross, under was a dome, turned out to be a church called Gergesa, which matched the biblical descriptions.

· Logical Defense

· Who corrupted it? If the koran is protected by God, and the bible was sent by God, then Allah must have protected the bible.

· The testimony of the Qur'an.

· Q 5:43-47 The torah&gospel are guidance and light.

· Asks christians to live by Gospel.

· States that bible was not corrupted.

· Q 15:9 We have without doubt sent down the Message; and We will guard it.

· Q 21:105 Torah!

· Q 10:94 Ask Christians if youre in doubt!

· Q 16:43 Allah says ask Christians!

· IT IS SPIRITUAL! Their eyes are blinded! Ask God before you go! Ask for their eyes to be opened.

I hope this helps.

God Bless, metal.

In addition to the reasons stated above, Jesus accepted worship.

"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am." - John 13:13

"Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
'What is it you want?' he asked.
She said, 'Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.'
'You don't know what you are asking,' Jesus said to them. 'Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?'
'We can,' they answered.
Jesus said to them, 'You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.'" - Matthew 20:20-23

"When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
'Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!'
'Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!'
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples!' 'I tell you,' he replied, 'if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.'" - Mark 19:37-40

In no way does Jesus ever deny being God. Many times, he claimed to be God, and when that was acknowledged through worship, he never tried to stop it. Contrast that with angels and prophets:

"I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, 'Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!'" - Revelation 22:8-10

"When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, 'The gods have come down to us in human form!' Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 'Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.'" - Acts 14:11-15

The book of John is the best place to start. Here are some of the scriptures from John 1:

John 1

The Word Became Flesh

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " 16From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,[e][f]who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

29The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' 31I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel."
32Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."

This is a great opportunity that you should not let go of...Eventhough it will hurt her if she converts to Christianity. She would probably have to keep it a secret because it is not allowed in Islam to convert elsewhere or they will have you killed.

Basically all the other people have said tremoundously good things that will help you.

I will say something blunt though that may help you...It's probably not a good idea, but its so 100% true.

Ask her to study historic Islam and the historic Mohammad. Then ask her to look at the 10 commandments set by Jesus and then ask her to see if Mohammad as a whole (his WHOLE life) stacks up to the 10 commandments.

Mohammad will 100% fail the judgement and does not match Jesus holiness in any way.

Jesus Christ is God. He came down to earth, born of the Virgin Mary, fulfilled all the prophecies. He bore all our sins, died and was raised again on the third day.

Jesus Christ is the same Lord that brought the Israelites out of Egypt. He is the Rock.

Deuteronomy 32:3-4

Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto out God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment; a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Matthew 17:18

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus Christ is Lord and God.

John 20:25-28

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Isaiah 42:1-4

Behold my servent, whom I uphold, mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit up him; he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Matthew 12:15-21

But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all: And charged them that they should not make him known: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esa'ias the prophet, saying, Behold my servant, whom thy soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Im-man'-u-el. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Matthew
1:23 "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall call his name Em-man'-u-el, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Matthew
1:21 " And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jesus offers his salvation to everyone. How can you accept this salvation? This bible verse says it all.

Romans 10:9 “ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Confess the above and admit that you are a sinner and that you need God’s forgiveness. Ask him to fill you with the Holy Spirit.
