I'm actually quite interested in watching the next Impeachment hearing, when one comes along.
Impeachments are about "high crimes and misdemeanors", but if nothing is illegal for the president then it is impossible for him to commit crimes. So..... does that mean impeachment is no longer a thing?

Not that any USA president has ever been removed through the impeachment process. So probably no big difference.

Why bother. The people seen the bad things, that Trump did. And they still elected him. They don't care.

It comes as no shock that media outlets are working around the clock to discredit the members of DOGE. How can they not — the Musk-led group is uncovering what I deem to be the largest financial crime ever carried out against the American taxpayers. With no chance of stopping DOGE from uncovering D.C.’s corruption, the only option for elitists is to instruct their media puppets to disparage the auditors. It is a futile attempt; it will NOT sway taxpayers to hate on DOGE. Let me ask what concerns you more: Discovering the politically incorrect tweets written by a DOGE auditor, or discovering who led the charge in laundering your hard earned money to foreign countries in an attempt to promote leftist agendas? I think I know your answer.

Across the entire federal government, $8 million was spent on Politico Pro, a subscription service, and other Politico services.

USAID paid $24,000 to Politico in 2024 for a subscription to E&E, an energy and environmental news service owned by the company.

You know those newspapers, magazines and websites that want you to pay for them to read them? Well, institutions also have to pay if they want to read - companies, governments, universities, non-profits, etc.

Because they need access to the content to do their jobs. The same reason they purchase computers and chairs for their employees.

My wife works for a university and gets subsidized subscriptions to big newspapers and free access to a ton of academic journals. I work in video games and, while my particular discipline isn't big on paid information services like that, we do keep up on various media, so I've got a pile of games and movies here paid for by my employer(s) (and not just the ones we've developed).

I've spent some time in federal facilities where the regular workers are located. There is a cash box for payment on the honors system next to the coffee pot. I've also heard of water coolers being removed because it was providing "free water" to workers. (The kind that are plumbed to the domestic water supply seem to be OK, though.)

we're not talking about recreational reading or general news reading (like you or I would do), but specific news reporting needed to do their jobs.
