Music that makes you want to...

Okay, the other day I was talking to one of the guys who sits on the committee for our promotions company with me. He informed me that because of me he now has a Pavlovian response to hearing the Dead Can Dance.

You see, every time we are booked to do a wedding, Birthday or whatever, that includes a buffet or meal, I try to make certain we are not playing anything that people will want to dance to while they eat. Dead Can Dance fits the bill, its good, its gentle and its “listen to” not “Dance to” music.

What I was wondering is, what songs/bands/music make you want to do something other than the obvious sing along/have a boogie and why?

Every time I hear "Winterborn" by the Cruxshadows I get the urge to play a Wargame. May sound odd unless you hear the Lyrics, which are about the fears of a soldier on the night before fighting an unwinable battle and the reasons he fights anyway. (In the hope his sacrofice will help to save the people he loves).

The band Faith no More, makes me wanna play the incredible board game "Talisman".

I was totally addicted to their music in the beginning of the 90's and played Talisman very often with a friend of mine, only listening to Faith no More.
So, these days, when I here a song of theirs, I start thinking about the game

Everytime I hear Def Leppard's - Pour Some Sugar On Me it makes me want to get drunk, start taking body shots, and partying... (mostly because that's what I am doing whenever I hear that song)


And also, whenever I hear Godsmack's acoustic album, it makes me want to pick up a guitar and learn how to play...

Another one for you/

Whenever I listen to Yes or to Hawkwind I get teh urge to do some decorating. Mostly becasue when I got my house I decorated it top to bottom whilst listening to these two bands. A few weeks later my Grandparents moved to a new palce and I decorated that for them with the same two bands on the stereo.
