"when we see people who are working as gardeners, people who are working in the back of restaurants, being picked up, that's not what the president said he was going to use precious ICE resources on,"

Yes it is. He said he was going to remove all if them. Its what we voted for. We want ALL illegals gone.
Maybe they could pick up some actual illegals, then.

Too bad they can't keep away the people who will take advantage of the situation and cause destruction and looting
This is such a naive comment. I mean, honestly, what do you expect in situations like this? I know what Trump expected. He knew that escalating the situation would lead to more problems. It would likely lead to violence. And that's all he wanted. He didn't want to solve the problem. He wanted to make it worse. So that when you have idiots lobbing rocks and torching cars then he has people like yourself actually congratulating him on what he's doing.

Some people can't seem to separate what happens when a protest gets ugly from the reason that the protest occurred in the first place. They are two separate facts and we should all be complaining about both. But no, you just want to complain about the results of what Trump is doing and not about what he is doing that's causing all this. And you'll continue to do this.

Every torched car, every rock thrown, every flag burnt just becomes grist to the mill. It will be the focus of so many posts. And it's an example of what Trump wants. He wants you to concentrate on the morons who use violence almost for its own sake and completely ignore the violence he is perpetrating on the constitution.

Complaining about what Trump is going does not equate to any support for violence in any way. So you will constantly see people in this forum decrying the violence and pointing out what Trump is doing to the constitution. But there are too many here who will just want to complain about any riots and willfully ignore the cause.

You can't ignore this any longer. Silence isn't an option. If you don't argue against what he's doing then you are now in a position where it has to be said that you support it. The fence sitters can pick a side now.

Most people complaining about ICE say that it's the way it's being done that they disagree with, they don't object to people being deported.
So I'll paraphrase what someone else asked:
"I would prefer that immigration laws be enforced by-------"

I would prefer that immigration laws be enforced while following the constitution and its protections for all persons, not terrorizing the communities surrounding their intended targets and not further escalating and dramatizing things by needlessly adding military presence to the situation.

I don't think the military has been used in any ICE raids.
How would you go about gathering the people who are here illegally, who entered illegally or overstayed their visas?

They object to three things.

Firstly, who is being deported - that is, family men and women, workers at menial jobs, those men and women who are washing your dirty dishes out the back of your local restaurant, 12 hours a day for minimum wage. People who are sometimes in the process of applying for citizenship. When it was promised to you by Trump that they'd be concentrating on the real bad guys first. Well, he lied to you. Which really can't be too much of a surprise to you, now can it..?

Secondly, the lack of due process. The complete and wilful ignoring of the constitution.

Thirdly, the complete over-the-top means by which some ICE officers are going all this. Body armour, flash-bangs, military style weapons...it's not required to check the bona fides of someone washing dishes or sewing clothes. Not to mention that now we have the National Guard involved and Marines are being bussed in. You kidding me? Marines? How over-the-bloody-top can you actually get?

And all this is being ignored by so many. All they want to do (and you've been doing it) is pointing out some morons who torch some cars and throw some rocks. Which is exactly what Trump wants you to do! Oh no, someone spat at a cop. Oh no, someone threw a rock. Oh gosh, someone burnt a flag.

Ye gods, it's like you're complaining about the soup being cold as the Titanic slides under the waves. Wake up to the reality of what is happening in your country.

I acknowledge that every person who intentionally crosses the border illegally has committed a crime. There are many who do try to become citizens, though. I've read of some who are literally days (or perhaps weeks) away from either finalizing the citizenship process or from their asylum hearing. I believe those individuals should either be fast-tracked through the courts or permitted to stay until those are completed.
I agree with that.
My opinion is that we should be focusing on criminals and those uninterested in working first (and, obviously, any who might be rioting and causing strife.) I do feel somewhat bad for those individuals who are actively working, trying to better themselves in our country, but they did it the wrong way.
I agree with that as well.
The Bible says we are to follow the law of the land. The law says it is illegal to live here if you're not a citizen, unless certain conditions are met. Running across the border in secret, never applying for citizenship, etc - these are not showing respect to the US or to God's law. Yes, we should be merciful, but things need to be done in the proper manner.
Sounds like we are on the same page!

Lots of complaints but you didn't answer the question.
And just think, you've forgotten all about tariffs

You know this is about Trump right? ICE has conducted raids like this before and no one cared. Not until Trump took office and now the left decides it cares.

California has always been an outlier and few pay attention to their antics save fellow extremists. I think you underestimate the depth of disgust with the illegal crossings and how most don’t care how it’s done as long as they’re gone. His desire to set aside birthright citizenship is another example of our shifting perspective. No one‘s protesting that.

Then what are they doing in downtown LA?
They're just backing up local law enforcement.
They're not arresting illegal immigrants or anyone else and they haven't participated in any ICE raids
