7500 are expected to attend Trump's live fireworks show. Mt. Rushmore has not had a fireworks show since 2009--and this year the pine forests surrounding the monument for miles and miles have been suffering from drought conditions. As a matter of fact, a 60 acre fire six miles from the monument was just contained yesterday. But our city's planned festivities has given me an idea. They are having digital fireworks. These drone-propelled displays can be so lavish and extravagant that they have been used by Disney and other high profile venues and events.

What could be more appropriate than "faux fireworks for our faux president," desperately trying to gain a little legitimacy by standing next to Wasington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln?

I didn't vote for Obama but he was still my president and I never badmouthed him. Would you not consider the same for Trump?

If I remember correctly Donald J Trump spent 5 years during the Obama Administration promoting the "birther" conspiracy - an attempt to question that President's constitutional right to hold office and a thinly veiled attempt to undermine the authority of the nation's first African American Commander-in-Chief!

I'm glad you said that because I didn't vote for Trump either. But do you know what? He's my president and I will never badmouth him. Hate spawns hate but love is something that is universal. If we react to him and give him hate back then he won't change. But if we love and support him then he will change. He could have probably grown up that way and he doesn't know any better. But if we show him that's not the way to be then he will realize that he is wrong.

Just to give you an example, I had a bully in school that used to bully me a lot. You know what I did? I seen him on the side of the road one day broke down and I got out and help him get his truck started again. Me and him have been friends ever since. Hate spawns hate but love is universal and it can work on anyone.

The left continues to prove that there is absolutely nothing the President can do that they will not find fault with, insult and complain about.

The good news is that people are beginning to see the Ludicrous nature of constant complaining over things that if virtually anyone else on the face of the earth would do, they would not say a word.

This President has never shown himself to be a a proponent of the Greatest Commandment and the Parable of the Good Samaritan - unfortunately as a "narcissist" he would only interpret these conciliatory measures as a sign of weakness that would result in him "doubling down" on his efforts!

If one aspires to be President of the United States or any other democracy, there should be no expectation that he/she will be exempt from criticism - the America Revolution replaced a monarch who asserted the "Divine Right of Kings" and that his subjects were in no position to criticize the actions of those appointed by God!

The Constitution attempts to limit the power of any one branch of government by introducing a system of "checks and balances" which, when combined with the 1st Amendment, enshrines the right of the individual citizen to criticize as essential to a functioning democracy!

There's a reason why Donald J Trump has been compared to France's Sun King, Louis XIV, who made that famous quote

    "I AM THE STATE!"

Did he stop being a bully or did you just become his side kick?

Should we remain silent when 3,000 young people without masks and social distancing are placed in an enclosed venue in a state that currently has the dubious distinction of the highest rate of citizens testing positive in the nation?

Should we remain silent when these misguided students and their parents are encouraged to ignore the CDC guidelines and those of the local authorities by placing themselves unnecessarily at risk by attending a political rally being staged to for the gratification of just one individual - Donald J Trump?

You can't control 3,000 people. There's just no changing that. I wouldn't go to any of his rallies but at the same time I'm not going to tell them what they can and cannot do. If they want to get sick then that is all their fault. I try to not take sides on anything and I look at the good and the bad of everything. Those 3,000 are disregarding the CDC's guidelines because they like Trump. Others see it as irresponsible. I'm indifferent about Trump and I nor hate nor like him but other people feel different about it. I refuse to let the media tell me how to think about someone. Because if I think about it, I don't even know Trump personally, so I really can't have any opinions about him. I only give true opinions about people if I have actually met them. All of this second and third hand knowledge about Trump just makes me feel indifferent about him.

That statement made me laugh. Do you not know that I have said that same thing about other hateful people like I did with Donald Trump? My approach to hateful people is to show them The Way of Jesus, not by directly reacting to how they treat others or how they treat me. The Lord Jesus did the same thing. He worked through example and then others followed. If I work through being a kind soul then others will see that kindness is better than hate. Humility and conviction will work through the soul and that hateful person will come to terms with what they have done and they will ask for forgiveness. One should not hold a grudge against someone for what they have said. You still offer them a place to sleep, some food, and friendship and you are kind to them regardless. Just do not let them step on you or you cut ties with them. If they ask about the Lord then preach to them while bringing them up.

This is a valuable lesson that I learned from the Amish.

If the Lord does not destine me to talk to Trump and for me to show him the ways of God then it is not meant to be. Meanwhile, I won't worry about him because it is far more important to me to be kind to everyone that I encounter and meet and to spread the gospel to all those kind souls that God puts in my path. It is not my worry to bring it to Trump. That is the job of other christians and their own journey. God will guide them.

It was a serious question, I’m wondering if the bully stopped bullying or if he just stopped bullying you. It’s pretty rare when a bully just stops acting out completely.

Oh, you're talking about the bully? I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about me being Trump's sidekick. My mistake.

The bully really did stop bullying me. I'm sure he may have thought about his actions when he was being mean to other people. I never heard about him being mean to people. When others would get bullied, I would know about it and I would go out of my way to be nice to the bullies and be kind to them. It was not an effort of being weak, I just don't think that they had any friends.

I actually used to carry a sonic stuffed animal in my bookbag in high school because I had anxiety around people. When people found about this, some of them bullied me for it and others felt sorry for me. I have asperger's syndrome so maybe God has gifted me in certain ways. When I saw one of the bullies that particularly was being mean to me on the side of the road I got out and helped him start his truck again and said God bless to him. He then apologized to me and now we are friends. The Lord works in strange ways and all I can do is thank God for his kindness.

If you were driving on bald tires, or living in a condemned building, would you pray and hope for change?
126000 dead due to denial, inaction, and ignorance while continuing to set bad examples and hold ego fests that put lives at risk is a clear and present danger.
I am voting him out November 3 and feel certain there are plenty of people of conscience will join me.

I don't know about that one. The other option isn't a raffle ticket winner either himself. If you ask me they both need to take their foots out of their mouths and get out of politics. I vote Jesus every time I go to the polls because he's the only one who can help.

In all honesty, the only person that I have ever voted for was Gary Johnson in 2016. Beyond that, I've never really taken politics seriously.

I vote for the person who I believe follows the Golden Rule, which is the philosophy not only of Christianity but of most of other faiths. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It leads me towards good decisions.
