The Pope was true to his faith and Jesus Christ. The Pharisees of our day are disappointed...shocker.

I'm glad that the Pope rejected the claims of Kim Davis and will not stand with her bigotry. I'm also glad he got to meet with his gay friend and his partner. At least the Pope understands compassion and not judging. Too bad most Christians don't and are obsessed with condemning gays any chance they get.
I believe abortion is an extremely complex issue with many factors we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of.Here's another lame excuse. Assuming you had a two-year-old playing in your yard and suddenly a crazy killer walked up to him and decapitated him? Would you consider that a heinous crime subject to the death penalty? So how does abortion suddenly become "a complex issue"? Is that because the baby is still in the womb and can't speak for itself?
What is needed is a law that makes the killing of embryos and unborn children a crime subject to capital punishment. All the complexity would disappear immediately, and people would once again bring some sanity and some humanity to something that is truly atrocious.
Why can't YOU people be made uncomfortable for once? Why do the facts always conveniently bend to whatever you say? Why can't YOU people get all upset and triggered and whatnot by something? Don't any of you realize that this allegedly great Pope is only 50% liberal. He hasn't embraced gay marriage, talked about pride, waved rainbow flags, ordained women, ordained gays, ordained transgendered people, worshipped Stalin, or anything else you might want him to do. He still has the traditional views on sexuality and the family--he just happens to be a socialist and is able to control himself better. I don't understand how at first liberals all hated Christianity due to the Catholic molestation issues, but now suddenly they love Catholicism again all because some Pope issued rhetoric.I am actually extremely glad that he makes many Christians uncomfortable. People need to be challenged and realize that not everyone in the world is going to bow down to the United States' ridiculous political circus and flock to one side or the other of our party system. Issues such as abortion and immigration are not black-and-white. Hardly anything is.
Many or most people were overjoyed about the Pope’s visit to the U.S. I am extremely unhappy, and there are ample reasons why.
- Pope Francis laughed with Obama on camera multiple times, Obama the man who refuses to defund the butchers at Planned Parenthood, even if it means shutting down the U.S. government to protect them, and Obama the man who forces Catholic organizations pay for contraceptives and abortion causing drugs.
- In response, Pope Francis could have said something to Congress about abortion or the unprecedented evils of Planned Parenthood, but instead he said nothing at all, leaving those in Congress fighting Planned Parenthood with no support at all.
- Now to his credit he did meet with the Sisters of the Poor, a group of nuns who are suing the Obama administration over the contraception issue. But this symbolic act was overshadowed by other events.
- There were signs of hope when Pope Francis talked about protecting religious freedom for public workers, and even met with the Kentucky clerk who was jailed for not signing same-sex marriage certificates. But couple of days later the Vatican withdrew his support of her cause, completely hollowing the meaning of his earlier words.
- This confused approach took another turn after Pope Francis spoke vaguely about threats to God’s design for sexuality and marriage in his address to Congress, but then met with a longtime gay friend and his partner in search of a “hug” from them. The gay friend even claimed the Pope has never challenged him about his sodomy.
Through these and other conflicted words and actions, it is clear the visit of Pope Francis has only emboldened Obama and people like him to continue their attack on orthodox Christianity. Nearly every media report echoes what secularists now believe: Pope Francis is marginally concerned about the slaughter and sale of the unborn in this country, is an advocate for same-sex relationships, and won’t defend those who are persecuted for standing against gay marriage. As a Catholic Christian who is very concerned about these issues, I believe Pope Francis failed his Church miserably during this visit. He has made grave matters even worse, and I truly wish he had not come here. Pope Francis has lost my trust as a spokesman for truth.
Who's "you people?" Did you not notice the Christians in this thread who have expressed the same sentiment as I did? It's not as if there are two types of people. You're being a bit selective in your observations. Why can't YOU people be made uncomfortable for once?
What do I say?Why do the facts always conveniently bend to whatever you say?
You're entitled to your opinion. But it reeks of provincialism. The Pope is a man of the world. And from a global perspective, there are so many issues vastly more important than the legality of abortion and the sex of people getting married in our country.

Clearly Nancy got exactly what she wanted out of it. Did John ?
Nope. That backfired on him.
I still suspect that his decision to resign was made under threat of excommunication.
Far more likely is that he grew a conscience.
That, in itself, would be a miracle for a politician.

If you are referring to the hate-filled (so called) Christians like the Westboro Baptist Church, then I agree, more compassion is needed.
But to suggest that it's a good thing for a head of a Christian Chuch to start having friendly banter and photo opportunities with an unrepentant sinner is frankly laughable.
Gosh, all the books and pamphlets on personal soul winning suggest I make friends with people and them mention Christ to them. Now you tell me to skip the first step. I don't seem to get consistent advice on this.
