  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My answer is no. I have never addressed my mother as "woman".

However I think you may be going at Jesus saying to Mary “Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.”

Jesus is declaring to Mary that His service to the Father has started. Mary has always held in her heart the things Gabriel said to her, as well as the thing's Jesus said to her as a child. She realizes what's happening.

Let's not forget that Gabriel told Mary Jesus would be the Son of God, and not her son.

OH my goodness ... does edging Mary OUT go so far as THIS?

Why is there such a propensity among some to give great credit to Abraham, David, Saul/Paul, but NOT to the Mother of our Blessed Lord and Redeemer?

Here in this moment I quote Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta:

"No Mary? ... No Jesus."

Case closed.

God bless you.

Good point, I never gave that much thought before. Thanks :)

Did you or would you ever refer to your mother as woman - twinc

Hi Twinc,

'Jesus saith unto Her,
"Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come."'
(Joh 2:4)

'When Jesus therefore saw His Mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, He saith unto His Mother,
"Woman, behold thy son!"'
(Joh 19:26)

* To our ears, the reply our Lord makes to His Mother in John 2:4 sounds rather abrupt, but we must remember that the use of the word 'woman' was a respectful form of address, as can be seen from 19:26, and 20:13,15.

'And they say unto her,
"Woman, why weepest thou?"
She saith unto them,
"Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they
have laid Him."
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus saith unto her,
"Woman, why weepest thou?"
"Whom seekest thou? "
She, supposing Him to be the gardener, saith unto Him,
"Sir, if thou have borne Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him,
and I will take Him away."'
(Joh 20:13-15)

PRAISE GOD!

You must understand that you are Catholic. Have you noticed that other faiths don't exalt women as Catholic's do Mary, and make her a virgin? The world is exalting woman over man but they do it in other ways that's just as guilty.

Adam and Eve are equated in God when obedient. When the pair are disobedient the woman usurps authority by the crutch of satan. The unholy trinity then become as gods, apart from God. Catholics exalt the woman over man which is an abomination to the Times and Law of God, which is in violation to His Authoritative Creation Order.

Those who fail to believe this will either be awakened in approxiamately 90 days or they will perish if they remain asleep.

Jesus Christ was well before Mary, his existence isnt dependant on Mary, hers is.

He could have chosen another vessel through whom to come through, God isnt limited by his own creation

The seed of the woman is the life of the woman.

Mary is a picture of something just like Hagar was, or Sari, or Sarah or Esau or Dan. It is not of gender but of order.
