  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our God is an awesome God, that's for sure.....

Not only are our amazing and unique bodies composed primarily of just three elements--carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen--but even our personalities are so completely different.

There are those of us like me, who, because I saw my MIL work through all her issues and learn to forgive in the last weeks of her life, know that our God is a God of second chances....

And there are those of us like you, who won't trust your own senses or experiences unless they have been approved by the Pope.....

And I'm not saying that either of us is wrong (although I feel sure you'd tell me I'm wrong.)

If Our Lady of Fatima said one thing and my spiritual experiences led me to a different conclusion, I would trust my spiritual experiences. You'd do just the opposite.

And the fact that we can be so different, instead of little clones of one another, glorifies God.

I think God is happy when people don't wait for 20 years to get an OK from Rome to trust themselves. But that's me.

I understand where you are coming from even if I don't agree with you, for I used to think like this too.

I hope you wiill consider further why my position is as it is. The issue for me is, Jesus gave us the Church to lead us in our spiritual journey, rather our own spiritual expreriences, which, being subjective by their very nature, can easily lead us astray. That is why the Church is our plumbline and guide.

I hope you will also read my post immediately above sharing the wisdom of the Church St John of the Cross presents to us on this issue. :)

Whoa, seriously? You don't think Medjugorje is for real? I had no idea. Thanks for clearing that up - I was really confused as to what you thought about the topic.

Yes, seriously! I had held off judgement until I really dug into the facts while investigating it.

It is very clearly false and for the exact same reasons Naju Japan was condemned as false.
