Galatians 2:16

OK, question:

Paul refers to the works of the Law in GAL 2:16. Does James refer to the same works? Is he referring to other works?

I do agree that most Christians lack a basic understanding of the faith.

I would have disagreed with you a short time ago but I'm currently posting in another thread with a couple of people who don't know what the essentials of the faith are. It's a little disturbing, really.

Whats so scary about this research is that the questions asked are very basic, this is the foundation of the Christain Faith yet so many know so little.

Praise the Lord that George Barna and his team have carried this study out, to help equip the church.

Your taking her statement out of context. She said that in response to the poll that 57% of Christians claim that works play a part in salvation.

That is unless you want to claim that salvation is a result of your works, rather than your works are a result of your salvation.

Just thought I would mention Eph 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast

So if any of you think that works has anything to do with salvation you should return to the book and check what it says. As we progress in our walk with Christ our faith will produce works. If you think that works has anything to do with salvation you are sorely mistaken! If you think you can add anything to Christ's work on the cross, which is where we get our salvation, then you are horribly arrogant. Let me make this clear again, you an imperfect sinner cannot in any way add to what Christ did, it is by his sacrifice alone that we are able to attain grace and salvation.

This is why church membership should be limited to confessing, evangelical, practicing Christians.
Gimme a break, nothing like a nice little tidbit for the pagans, I hate when that happens.
