  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Exactly my point. You sound just like a person that is not considered as first choice to talk people with possible traumatic experiences relating to their sexuality or reproduction. Sorry.

I'm a woman whose daughter went through a horrific rape when she was 15 years old...

Anyone considering a morning after pill has been through something that is more likely to be significant than not, so my first thought is to see if they need help in some way.

That's of greatest importance in the immediate..

Hi Everyone,

Would it be wrong for me as a Christian to take a morning-after pill? Would it be a form of abortion? my view is that I'm not killing anything because nothing currently exists inside. It would be very wrong to do it once I have confirmation of life inside

Also is it dangerous to take the morning-after pill, will it cause me not to get pregnant in the future? What is Gods view

The morning-after pill is simply a higher dose of the same chemicals in regular birth control pills. You can't logically support birth control pills and oppose Plan B. Also, it will not prevent pregnancy in the future.

When does conception take place?

The process starts when an ovum is released by the ovary. This occurs in the middle of a woman's menstrual cycle. Which is 2 weeks after her last period. The ovum enters the Fallopian tube, which abuts the ovary. It remains in the tube about 24 hours. Then there's the male side of the process: After [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], sperm must travel up the uterus and into the Fallopian tube. Sperm remain alive for 5 days in the woman's body. Millions of sperm don't make it to the tube. But it only takes one lucky sperm to find it's way into the Fallopian tube where it fertilizes the waiting ovum. So conception usually occurs within 24 hours of ovulation. After fertilization, the ovum begins to divide. Microscopic cilia on the Fallopian tube cells begin moving it through the tube into the uterus. This takes about 6-12 days. When it reaches the uterus, it's at the blastocyst stage. Which is a hollow ball of about 100 cells. The blastocyst is what implants into the uterine lining.

The consensus among gynecologists is that emergency contraception most always acts by inhibiting ovulation. Interfering with sperm entering the ovum may be a secondary effect. Preventing implantation is a possibility, but has not been clearly established. Although it's accepted that preventing implantation is one of the ways IUDs work.

When does conception take place?
There are lots of thoughts on this.

many believe it is at conception.
Some believe it occurred in the mind of God before the foundations of scripture according to scripture.
Others choose arbitrary biological times (which makes no sense) like implantation, or heart beat, or 20 weeks, or birth.

I disagree. Preventative birth control prevents conception, the morning after pill takes affect post conception and kills the zygote. However Idk if this is abortion or not overall I just
Know you can make a logical argument either way.

I'm going to go out on a limb and state that 99% of people believe conception happens at conception.

I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and I'm fairly fundamental in my understanding of scripture.

I'd rather help this poster, if that be possible, than argue semantics..

Perhaps we can all agree to do that. Might be more helpful.
And on her wedding night will you be one of those stoning her to death, as the savage authors of your book command, or is it your god who commands such?
