Just to add to your post and for clarification -- a priest in LDS is not the same as a Priest in the Catholic faith...just FYI. And "ordained", is not the same as "ordained" in the Catholic faith.
Perhaps Brother S. can elaborate on that.
I would be happy to!
In the Mormon church there are two priesthoods - the Aaronic (which the Mormons claim is the same priesthood held by Aaron, Moses' brother) and the Melchizedek (which the Mormons claim is the priestood held by Melchizedek from the Old Testament.)
The Aaronic priesthood is bestowed upon young men starting at the age of 12, when, if they are found worthy, become Deacons. At age 14, teachers - and at age 16, priests.
The primary role of Deacons are to serve the Sacrament (similar to Communion) during church. The primary role of teachers are to do just that - teach, and the primary role of priests are to bless the sacrament. The prayer that is said to bless the sacrament
must be said word for word, without err, or it must be repeated for it to be recognized as valid. The Mormon church uses everyday bread..such as Mrs. Bairds, and water.
At age 18, if found worthy, all males recieve the Melchizedek priesthood starting with Elder. Elder's serve 2 year missions - they cannot choose where they go - and they must fund themselves to a large degree. In Doctrine and Covenants it is called "the Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God."
They believe these two priesthoods were restored to the earth during the time of the Restoration, when Joseph Smith began to recieve revelation from God after pondering and praying about a verse in James. I'm sure someone has already gone over the "First Vision" in this thread.

As to why I believe it to be of Satanic origin...
Starting with Adam and Eve...what did the serpent say to Eve to persuade her? He said "ye shall be as gods.." (Genesis 3:5)
The goal of every Mormon is to be good enough so when they die, they can become gods and goddesses, having sexual relations with their partners to populate worlds they create, just as they claim God does to populate ours.
It's interesting that the Mormon church does not teach a doctrine of original sin...because their entire church, in effect, is based off of it.
As to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...there is a story in the Book of Mormon I would like to point to...
Lehi, a supposed Mormon prophet in the Americas, has a vision of a "Tree of Life" ...partaking of its fruit, so the story says in this "scripture" passage, is the goal of every Mormon. (1 Nephi 8)
Lehi's tree of life is the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Those who partake of it will die just as God said in Genesis.
This is only the beginning of why I think it is originated by Satan...the serpent..the master of deception.
With love,
Simon
