Rom. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
What does it mean to be more than a conqueror?
Can you imagine a boxing match, say the world heavy weight title... and you have someone like Mike Tyson in the final... the prize is $10 million...
These two prize fighters slug it out, round after round until in the fifteenth round Tyson wins...
He sits in the dressing room, covered in cuts and bruises and thinks about his victory, he has swollen eyes, cauliflower ears, maybe a broken nose...
he gets in his car and drives home, he rings the doorbell and his wife comes to the door, she is a small slip of a woman, tiny in comparrison, he kisses her on the cheek an hands her the cheque for $10 million...
She got all the benefits without any of the fight, you see he was a conqueror but she was more than a conqueror, she got all the benefits of the battle but she never had to put on a glove...
So too in Christ, Jesus one day went into the battle on our behalf, he was bruised and beaten beyond recognition but He won the victory, he became a conqueror, and then he came to my house and to your house and offered that victory to you and me...
We have become more than conquerors because of his great love for us, we never had to lift a glove or show up for the battle but we get to enjoy all the benefits...
Praise His Mighty name... Jesus is Lord...
