Hello all,

I am thinking about becoming a Christian,
I have believed in god from when I was about 10, I dont know why it started when I was 10 maybe god spoke to me. Now at 16 I am a strong believer.

I have a friend called Sally, She is a Christian, She said I can ask her anything. But im unsure what I should ask?

Can anyone give me some more information or questions I should ask my friend.

I'm not sure what you need to ask. Just open up your heart to her and tell you what you have just told us and whatever else may be keeping you from committing yourself to God. I will pray that, in your search, God will give you wisdom and peace.
Something that you can do is to read a Bible. Start with the first four books of the New Testament. You may have questions from what you have read. Write them down. Ask your friend or feel free to ask us here at CF! :) God bless you dear friend.

I don't quite understand Alan. You state you had believed in God from when you were 10. And now at age 16 you say you are a strong believer, yet you show the atheist icon. And you say you are thinking about becoming a christian.
Now you ask us to help you ask questions about christianity to your friend.

Maybe you had better have a good think about all this and then we might be able to help you because I don't know whether you are a christian or not.
Perhaps you placed the icon there by mistake? Because if you are a believer that Jesus is the Son of God, then, you are a Christian.

Hey Alan,

How's it going? I'm really happy to hear you are thinking about being a Christian! That's awesome!

Here are five questions that you might ask your friend:

1. Who is Jesus?
2. Why did he have to die?
3. How can I go to heaven and half eternal life?
4. How do I get to know Jesus?
5. What does it mean to have a relationship with Jesus and be his disciple?

I pray that God will guide you and your friend Sally in His will, and that He will bless you both as you seek to learn more about Him, in Christ name. Amen:)

Feel free to post again with a follow up!

Oh, I'm so happy to see you have sorted that out Alan! Yes, you can use the Christian icon! It doesn't matter that you haven't gone to any church. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God, you a christian. I thought there must have been some confusion on your part. I am so glad you know Sally, plus some other Christians! Maybe they can sit with you and you can all read the Bible together (The New Testament) and then ask Sally any questions which come to mind?
And, you can always ask us too! God Bless you Alan!

May I add Alan, that we, as humans believe that Jesus is the Son of God because it has been pointed out to me that satan also believes this is true.
It is up to us, as HUMAN'S to believe Jesus is the very Son of God because, although Satan believes, he trembles at that knowledge.
Believe, trust and learn of Jesus Alan. God Bless you on your walk through life with God. May you grow in wisdom and understanding.

The difference, too, is in what we do with what we know.

Please, please, please read the book of 1 John. There is the gospel, and then there are the three books of John toward the end of your Bible (Forgive me if you already knew this; I didn't want to assume) because it tells us a lot about how to tell if we have true faith. True faith always leads to righteousness and repentance. You are doing a great thing in testing yourself to see if you are in the faith-the Bible tells us to do this. Praying for you, friend! Please keep CHristian support-it will be very important as you seek the Lord. The past is of little importance-it's what you do with today that matters. Please find a faithful church. Reformed churches are good if they are truly godly-some have slipped away and have been ordaining women and other things the Bible says we shouldn't do, but if you find one that is truly reformed, you should be in good shape. Baptist churches are also good. Lutheran, usually have good sound doctrine. Many presbyterian churches are good. But it's important to begin this fellowship, where people welcome you and love you and care for your soul. I'm sure many are praying for you, me included.

Love in Christ

Quite so! :) And I would like to just mention, that the kindness, concern and love I have seen here, is the fruit of a good Christian. ;)

Being a Christian is more than knowing and professing a certain set of facts. It is acting in all ways, as Jesus taught us: Love, mercy, kindness, humility.

I see that in the above post and it warms my heart. God bless you Alan. You have found good friends here.

For using the faith icons your believes must match the icon – For using the Christian icon you have to be born again.

Step one is to be transformed from a sinner into a believer. (This is like conception.)
Anyone who wishes to approach God must believe that He exists and cares enough to respond to those who seek Him.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him

To become a believer is to consider our ways, to be willing to make a change. To come to a point where you have to make a choice and to know that what you choose will bring forth changes. The change of the mind calls for a change of the way. There is a great deal to be done, to make way for Christ into our souls, and nothing is more needful than the discovery of sin, and a assurance that we cannot be saved by our own righteousness
. The way of sin and Satan is a crooked way; but to prepare a way for Christ, the paths must be made straight; it’s a life of self-denial, and contempt of the world.

Joh 3:15 so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The new believer needs to read the bible and seeking answers. This is the same as with a new embryo, it needs to grow. If new believer honesty seeks God, they will be convinced by the Holy Spirit and will feel great sorrow; this will lead them to repentance

Repentance is to acknowledge that you are a sinner and need the blood of Christ to cleanse you. Turn to God in a way of responsibility, and He will, through Christ, return unto us in a way of mercy.

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Acts 2:38. Then Peter said unto them; Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Real repentance is to TURN AROUND, to move in the opposite direction.
It’s a gift of God’s grace – godly grief, based on love for God and the people that we sinned against. There have to be remorse for the wounding that was caused. Repentance accepts the truth when confronted and makes no excuses. Repentance also takes responsibility for own actions. A person with true repentance is willing to change and allow God to change them.

After true repentance we receive Christ as our Saviour, our spirit, which was motionless, through the curse that Adam brought upon mankind, starts to ‘live’ inside us.
To be born-again is to be a person whose spirit is new (re-born). He still has the same body and the same soul. Nothing visible happened to him, he did not turn instantly into an angle – he is still going to sin.
