happens usually when you start to work out you can actually gain weight at first as muscle is a lot denser and heavier than fat but it burns fat energy even when you are not working out so more muscle means more fat burning

Yep! The only way I know I'm making progress is measuring myself. The scale isn't much help.

or at least that is what it seems like these days with kids becoming behemoths.
