  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Few of us in this world are Christians. Even fewer still take their faith seriously and actively share Jesus with their loved ones or strangers around them. (Even though God has commanded us to and promised rewards to those who do)

Would you, as a believer, be comfortable paying someone else to do your evangelizing for you? Say you have a family member or friend who's lost and you want to tell them the good news. What would you give someone to do your witnessing duties for you?

Familiarity can be an inhibitor when ministering to friends and loved ones. They know you too well and the knowledge provides fuel for their rejection. In many cases they’re led to faith by others. You play a part but it isn’t overt. Love and prayer are strongest when you know them.

Nevertheless, I wouldn’t compensate a stranger to minister to them. I’d entrust their care to the Lord and let Him lead them to the appropriate source He has in mind. Whether it’s a book, class, person, or church. I won’t get in His way.

If the person excels at evangelism they should create a course and help others do the same. That’s a more effective way of using your gifts for the kingdom.

Yours in His Service,

~bella

:) And I thought this was going to be a thread about you feeling guilty for having a monetized Christian You-tube channel, or maybe selling products to Christians on a web site. :) I never expected this.

I guess I see it as my job to tell my friends and relatives about my faith 1 Peter 3:15 , but it is not my responsibility to sell them on it, to win them over etc. Lots of people, can think of evangelism like multilevel marketing, or some other form of sales.

Anyway this is one of those times that the saying "Christianity is not a religion but a relationship" is really true! (That saying actually bothers me, because Christianity is not only a religion in the literal and abstract sense and even according to the book of James). I see people coming into Kingdom more out of some kind of sense of community, through personal relationships rather than some rush to get people to pray the Sinner's Prayer.

No.
1) I can't subcontract God's calling on my life.
2) This would be a gross form of profiteering from the Gospel that I would not want to encourage. It's one thing to support a full-time missionary. It's another financially incentivize treating the Gospel like a sales campaign.
3) Why would the person who would take my money do a better job of preaching the Gospel to this person than an obedient version of me would?
