Yes, I can remember college professors teaching the class that The Jehovah of the Bible and the Allah of the Koran are the same God. That the Koran is the end and final revelation of the three...O.T...N.T. .... and finally the Koran. Though It is clear that they are completely different, for example the Koran teaches that Christ never died on the cross and that God has no Son. The Old and New Testement are in direct opposition to the Koran.

Makes you wonder why he would try to reconcile them if they're so different... Seems like he'd have had to know that somebody would call him out on it.

I don't think it was "him" that makes the attempt at reconciliation, but western thinking Muslims that are trying to assimilate all of us into one big religious family. Their prophet was only trying to borrow legitimacy from the Torah and the NT to establish it's "New Doctrines."

It may be necessary to clarify what is meant by "prophet". Some folks today think that a prophet is defined my making predicitons about the future. In biblical teaching, a prophet is defined as one who receives messages from God and transmits them. Some prophets have included statements about future events but that's not a necessary part of being a prophet.

The Koran is not a narrative like the Gospels or most of the Old Testament. There are a frew snippets of narrative within it, but for the most part it is not a sequence of events. It's more like a rant, with a great many declarations about how great the Koran is and how much unbelievers are going to suffer. So classifying Mohammed as a false prophet is not a statement about the events in the Koran, but rather about the source of all Mohammed's writings.

You are correct this was a good point that is why i chose to represent it. Christianity recognize Moses as a prophet, and yet we do not worship Him. This relationship is the we have with OT prophets is the one, western Islam is trying to embrace with Christianity and Judaism. One is not "worshiped" just to be recognized as a prophet. Worship is a quality only reserved for God. For Islam to Worship Christ is to acknowledge his deity. This is why worship of Christ has been forbidden in ALL forms of Islam.

We contend Christ is God and not a prophet, they contend He is a prophet and not God.

As I have demonstrated in this post, it seems to be you, who has a limited understanding of Christianity, Islam and even the simple understanding of what a prophet actually is..

No wonder you seek a more controlled venue in which to debate...

This post only proves what I had to say about content verses emotion. I left many facts for you to challenge, and your default was to appeal to a primal emotion.. Which proves all of the other observations that point to the self righteous nature in your efforts. If you want a debate then address the fact i have provided for you. Otherwise know I am shaking the dust from my feet.. (If you know Christianity..)

Live_free, I quote the stickied topics you should have read before posting here (as I don't appreciate you spinning away my thread; frankly, I'd believe Jesus over Mohammed):

It is acceptable for the Original Poster (OP) to probe the answers given, and to continue the discussion on lines which help to clarify their understanding of the Christian faith. If another non-Christian seeker wishes to ask questions about the Christian faith, they may start their own thread. No more than one non-Christian (the OP) may post in a thread.

This thread underwent a major clean up some posts were deleted. If you have any questions about your posts just send me a pm.

But please follow the following rules posting in Exploring Christianity :

Exploring Christianity FSG's - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!!

Exploring Christianity Forum
This is a forum where non-Christians are encouraged to ask questions about those aspects of the Christian faith which seem hard to understand or accept, and where Christians can enter into discussion with them on these questions.

We recognize that real seekers are looking for real answers, and the first reply given may be insufficient to achieve this.

All Original Posts (OPs) -- the posts that start a new thread -- must contain an identifiable question about the Christian faith. Questions and statements that are direct flames or that imply a flame against Christianity, Christians, or any other group are inappropriate to this site, and will be removed.

The following guidelines apply, in addition to, or as clarification of,
Christian Forums rules.

Blasphemy
The site-wide rules prohibit all blasphemy on this site. To clarify, members will not speak in a disrespectful way of the Christian God. Expressing disbelief in God is acceptable, as is questioning Christian beliefs, but this should be done in a polite, respectful manner.

Statement of Faith
All replies in this forum must be in accordance with the CF Statement of Faith (SoF). This means that your replies cannot disagree with the SOF. As an example, you may not answer a seeker’s question with a statement that God is not a Trinity, nor may you state that Jesus was merely a very good, human leader. All replies must help the questioner to understand Christian beliefs and practices, and the theology on which they are based.

Flaming
The site-wide rules prohibit flaming on this site. In this forum, all respectful discussion of the questions presented by Christianity is welcome. However, you may not attack the character, intelligence, or reputation of other members. This is considered flaming. You may not express or post hatred against another person or group, or refer to other posters or groups by derogatory or insulting names. This applies to all members, whatever their beliefs. In general, you may discuss the topic at hand, but not the poster or the people who hold to different beliefs/opinions.

Debate
This forum is for discussion of questions with non-Christians. There are some areas of theology in which different Christians may believe differently.
In these cases, we would ask Christians to refrain from debating the matter here. You may point out that there is a differing viewpoint, but please do not use this forum to debate with other Christians. If Christians wish to discuss various doctrines with other Christians, they should do so in the
Theology forums.

Actually a prophet is one who points people in the direction of God and calls them to repentance.

The definition of a false prophet can be found in Deuteronomy 13v1

"If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him"

The reason Mohammed would be considered a false prophet is because the verse above was written a few thousand years before he was born.
