That may indeed be true but IF these former pagans still clinged to their traditions and rituals what good did it do?
Pagans will cling to pagan traditions...this will not change.. In fact, it may increase.

The question is "What will happen if Christians don't perpetuate the celebration of our Saviors arrival, death and resurrection"?

I dont think many Christians even know what they are truly celebrating on Christmas now.

I strongly disagree with this statement.

I would agree, however, if you stated "many North Americans" even know what they are celebrating".

Although Christians will know due to the fact that Christians know who Christ is... the modern marketing combined with the fact that many in the west don't even have a clear understanding of who Christ is....many "non religious" and ignorant people could not even give you an explanation as to what we are celebrating.

You ask a practicing atheist who is in dialog supporting "their" view.. and they will be well aware of it.

Its not the birth of Christ, if it is, they are making a total mockery of his birth.

There will always be mocking... that is Satan's way.

My celebration of Christ's birth is no "mockery"... So don't assume to pretend that you know.

The day has now turned in a commercial retail holiday, in which Santa Claus is greater than Jesus and these same merchants that dont care and probably dont even believe in Jesus have no problem selling Christians all sorts of junk, making them rich, and sending them into debt they will probably be paying off til the next Xmas, and all this sales on on the basis of a lie of Jesus birthday being Dec 25th.

You are quite correct here. However, the worlds twist to this date does not change the fact that Christians are celebrating Christ's entry into the world.

Just because Satan is trying to pull a blanket over this pivotal date...or the date for which we celebrate a miraculous event... does not mean that we enable and facilitate him in his attempt to deflect, diminish, corrupt and destroy it and end it forever.

Merry Christmas will probably offend or get a person almost fired from their job, and a nativity scene is almost pretty much a no now adays.

They tried that, here in Canada.... However, to my delight... many, even in the media, are now refusing to bend to the "political correct" salutation of "happy holidays" in the event of trying not to offend.

In fact, some have told store owners that if they don't take down the "happy holidays" or put up the "merry Christmas" they will shop somewhere else. Of course, this only works with the "Mom and Pop" type shops.

Christmas trees, Elves, reindeer, a fat man going down your chimney, mistletoe, and yule logs have zero to do with Christ and are all based on Pagan sungod worship, yet many Christians that claim the day is about Jesus for them, all have some or all of these symbols as part of their Christmas celebration.
You may be correct, however, our tree has an angel at the top and the theme is of the birth of Christ.

If you were to be knowledgeable of all the pagan and Satanic symbols and themes that are presented in our world and marketing and advertisements today.. you would not be able to buy anything.

Starting to think God probably hates our modern day Christmas.

Well.. if you are serious.... then Satan is slapping his leg and laughing as another person has been deceived.

The problem with this analogy is that Christmas and the spirit of Christmas are of the devil - Jesus actually operated in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit isn't involved with a pagan/Satanic holiday such as Christmas.

Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - celebrating the spirit of giving - are from the devil???? Not in my book

I don't know. Much has been said about people could get fired for saying Merry Christmas but do you really know a lot of people that's happened to? All the stores I go into they all say Merry Christmas. I know restaurant managers have on their menus many times, "Happy Holidays" but I still see the staff saying Merry Christmas. So I think some of that is overblown.

Well Christmas wasn't put in as some ordinance to observe and yes God sees the pagan aspect. But it still creates an inroad for people to talk about Jesus, as in Jesus is the reason for the Season. We all know God sees it for what it is and his people can use it a platform to at least have an inroad to talk about salvation. The thing is not that God hates it or loves it but can it be used to at least talk about the Lord. I think it can.

It is for me - and for many other Christians; don't know about you.
CHRIST - mas - = Christ's holy day.

In the Orthodox Church we call it "Christouyenna" which means "Birth of Christ" and that is what we celebrate, Christ's birth. Traditionally the exchanging of gifts is not something we do on that day, but rather on the feast day of St Basil on 1st of January, remembering the generosity of the Saint and also a great miracle which occurred when he was bishop of Caesarea.

Again, I agree. No matter what, people associate Christmas with Christ to different degrees. This holiday and Easter are the best chance that we have to show God’s love to other and to show God in us.

As Christians bite each other’s noses off to be right, maybe lacking humility, in not seeing that God’s will can be done through these holidays, and we can speak to or honor God with our words, actions and deeds bringing Him glory.

If people put in half the effort to do God’s Work throughout this season as they do to debate and see themselves right. God’s Kingdom would indeed move forward during these dates.

Every year this same thread and those like it pop up in December. Every year.

How does one show God’s love through a satanic holiday?

Do you think that God is weak? In a church that is singing praises to His name, retelling the story of Christ's birth even acting out the events... you think that this is Satanic?

Christmas, just like Easter, is all about worshipping the sun, which is Satan worship in disguise.

I'm sorry but you have no clue about Christmas IMO. Those who truly worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ understand the meaning. Giving to others doesn't just me gifts.
