I applied a while ago but was rejected because I had claimed to be a full preterist for a couple of weeks...... I was told that I would have to wait about 6 months or so before I could apply again.....I can't remember if it's been 6 months or not, but I can tell you, I'm much more settled in my beliefs now than I was!

I may try again soon....Ksen, can you tell how long it's been for me?

Well, I don't know how much you have softened, be can be Partial Preterist Amill mates.

BTW, Ksen, you figure I ought to give it a 3rd try at moderator? With the amount of time I spend out of town now, it might not even be worth it.

Of course, with my recent tangles with Roman Catholics and Atheists, I may want to wait a bit. hehehe!

I'm partial preterist, I don't know about the amill bit, I lean heavily toward classic pre-mill(not the pre-mill of the Le-Haye type)

I'm not sure if I'm ready to give it a go right now.....but I'll pray about it.....

Ok, now I'm curious. What do you see as Preterist and what do you see as not yet fulfilled?

:D :D

I'm not sure I could explain it well. Maybe this link will help. I pretty much agree with what's on it: http://mikeblume.com/propose.htm It's not a long read.....

I had a nice chart to show you, but it wouldn't appear right, so I changed it a bit: Hope it's not too confusing......

Fullfilled:· A parousia of Christ ·
Yet:The Final Parousia of Christ

Fullfilled· Jerusalem destroyed
Yet · Earth destroyed

Fullfilled:· Judgment on Judaism
Yet:· Final Judgment

Fulfilled: Matthew 24
Yet: Matthew 25; 1Thess. 4; 1Corinthians 15

Fullfilled:· Ends the Old Covenant Age (note Heb. 8:13)
Yet: · End of the Age

Fullfilled: Proceeds from preaching the Gospel to Jews first throughout the oichoumene (Empire)
Yet:· Proceeds from the making of disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18-20)

Fullfilled:· Suffering, misery and death
Yet:· Suffering, misery and death done away with

Fullfilled:· Satan is bound
Yet:· Satan is damned

Fullfilled:· The beginning of Christ’s Kingdom
Yet:*The culmination of Christ's Kingdom

I'm still more confused than not over the whole "end-times" issue. The only thing I'm sure about is that I'm not Full Preterist and I'm not dispensational! And the only reason I haven't embraced Amillenialism is because Amills don't see the significance in the fall of Jereselem and they don't see a separation between the ressurection of the just and the unjust.

I thought about being a mod ...............but I would be tempted to lock the right (wrong) threads and basically be partisan :D ........ warnings would be here there and everywhere ............ and I would have great fun with the mod hat on / off routine ..."hello hello Hello , what av we here then " ... I reckon I could get banned ...... :p

* and "if some roaring great Bit* of a Monk really got going , I mean really going ...'CF' might even have to go into liquidation , yes liquidation " *

Well, I don't think that ANY Premil of any kind believes that Satan is bound and we are already in Christ's kingdom. I am open for correction. I will read your link when I have time.

Amills might not see the significane in the fall of Jerusalem, but Partial Preterist Amills might. ;)

As for the separation between the resurrection of the just and the unjust, yeah, you got me there. We do believe that there is only 1 resurrection at the end of this age:

Joh 5:28-29 GB
(28) Marueile not at this: for the houre shall come, in the which all that are in the graues, shall heare his voyce.
(29) And they shall come foorth, that haue done good, vnto ye resurrection of life: but they that haue done euil, vnto the resurrection of condemnation.

Am I going to be asked about my end time philosophy to become a mod???

It's just not that big a deal in the circles I move in. I remember a story from college when we first got an Irish lecturer. One of the guys asked him a question about premil or something, and he thought they were having a shot at him, and trying to judge him by where he stood on the issue. There was a welsh student in the class who put up his hand and told him that the question was for real, and that it just wasn't an issue over here like it is in the UK and USA. The entire class (about 60 theological college students) were pretty much the same.

Why is it such a big issue? I guess I don't really get it. Is it just that aussies are so laid back they say - "whatever happens happens". No point getting worked up over it til it happens. Or is it just sydney anglicans who just don't get into it.

Yeah, you'd better make a start on your essay. It's supposed to be 5000 words, but they might let you get away with 3000.

:p

that's ok - I'll just do what I did at uni. You just say the same thing in a different way a few times. So rather than just writing it once, you rephrase it so that you get more words in. So by the handy use of repitition you get to reach your word limit much faster without actually adding anything to the actual content. You'd be amazed how easy this is to get away with!

see what I mean. :D I think I'll be fine

not really, I just got rejected because I claimed full preterism for about a week or two......and that's heretical....sooo......

they do ask, but as long as you don't say full preterism....you'll be fine

What if you were to "plead the fifth" on the eschatological stuff?

I'm not interested in being a mod as of yet (for reasons stated earlier...) but if I were I think my answer to this question would be TBD (To Be Determined.)

Well, I survived my interview. It went well, I think. The interviewer was very gracious and we had a very nice IM chat session. I was thoroughly questioned, but my eschatology was never questioned. As I subscribe to the Nicene Creed, that seemed to cover it eschatologically. I like that.

Yeah - I survived mine too. But I didn't feel I got asked a lot of questions in a way. Just when I became a christian, did I have any problem with the rules, what ministries am I involved in, what did I have to offer as a moderator, did I agree with the nicene creed. A lot of those were pretty straight forward really.

I may have been a bit brief I guess..... well it's out of my hands now.

hmm - I may well have blown it. They just asked me a follow up question. When asked about whether I can keep confidences I said yes, but that dh and I don't promise to keep confidences from each other. So they asked me to clarify on it. Oh well, if that wrecks it for me I won't regret my answer. It has been the stance we have always taken and been encouraged to take.

Regardless of the effect this may have on your application, I think it's wonderful that you and your husband have this attitude.
