Btw I added a video in the MyCF page, its an early video I made last year for my mmo game project. I wasnt going to post it here but wait until I have shaders going but oh well.
Oh yeah, I know the project owner, well know him from the Internet, we have done some collaboration in the past regarding development of our games. Last I talked to him he was busy trying to get his book finished for release which put the game generally on hold for a time. Been waiting to see him pop his head up from his book, sometime soon Im sure. Not looking like 2007, maybe 2008 is a better guess. Ive posted info here on his game project before, you can find the site at http://www.foundationsofhope.com/ I dont remember if it was going to be f2p or commercial, not sure if he even knows yet. There is a new Christian mmorpg being formed right now, that will be available (if all goes as planned) in December 2007. It's called Foundations of Hope. Admin won't let me post a link, so google it I guess. Let's spread the word so it will succeed. It would be nice to have a mmorpg of our own.
I heard that they were having problems... SOE at it again I guess. How is that server merge going? I'm tempted to try it out though, it is a shader based engine like mine (no pipeline like most game engines have), I bet it looks beautifulI picked up Vanguard and am really enjoying it so far.

Well yeah, GW wasn’t a real mmorpg, it was an instanced game (not a world) much like Diable or some such game as that. I find it very hard to RP (really RP) in an instanced game and many people/kids there are just there to pwn not RP. I mean lets face it, the majority of RPers are drawn to online worlds, especially us oldschool p&p gamers, not online multiplayer pvp games which is what GW basically is. Btw, like the avatar, B5 is one of the best sci-fi’s ever made
WoW it's very easy to just run around by yourself.
Well yeah, at first release it was all about PvE but after the expansion things changed a lot, now being far more focused on PvP. I do like PvP a lot, but I like big battles and I prefer that with games that are designed to be PvP only like wwii online or PlanetSide. UO did pvp and pve well, for a time at least, it changes a lot like a boat w/o a rudder. The focus isn't on PvP, however it is a big part of the game.
Couldn't agree more, I have no problem with forced grouping. One of the things I noticed with EQ, played if for about 5 years, was when they started to make it more solo friendly there were far less groups to hook up with which made the game horribly boring. Not always boring, I mean if you had contacts you could wind up someplace at any given time for a group, but you couldn't just go to a favorite grind spot for your characters level and hop right into a pick-up group. As much as people complained about forced grouping, in the end switching to solo was what really damaged that game and caused subscribers to move on. I mean there always was an ability to solo with a few hybrid classes, but it wasn't as rewarding as group play, but now has become so, other than for raiding. Probably the next best thing I had found since then was CoH, that is a pretty nice group oriented game, it was when I played it at least, not sure if it has changed much after the CoV release.I think that's what makes me lose interest in it after a short time. One of the things I like about EQ is one of the things most folks gripe about and that's grinding. I always loved getting in a group somewhere and grinding because there was so much opportunity to chat and get to know people.
The three top reasons people play mmorpgs are:never got into mmorpgs dont see why their fun its all about level grinding and fetch quests in a huge world
