  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

mmo request please :)

Have you tried Diablo2 Lord od Destruction? I havent played it for about a year, but there's still a good community active for it, one of the greatest games produced for many reasons, even though its maybe a bit 'dated' the playabilty and story is beyond what most modern games can dream of. Its not free to DL, but its cheap to buy from most games shops that stock it.

Though if thats not up you're street have you tried MapleStory or Dragon Gem, theyre maybe suitable for you're computer spec. Hope this helps someway. Try having a look around google, theres big communities of free games out there, some doing realy good work, freeware has alot of backing from part time and professional programmers

I ran WoW on my 1GHz AMD with 768MB RAM and a 128MB video card. I also ran Guild Wars but that was before any of the expansions so I don't know if anything changed that would matter since then. Of course both of those are 3D.

Check this list and you might find something that fits what you're looking for.

Not at all. My fiancee's 1 ghz laptop runs it just fine.

Im in a small corporation, I stay out of the big slug-fests

Must have been my computer then.. it was quite old so I guess reformatting the HD would have helped.

I spent most of my time in a small (20 -25) corp in empire and I kinda miss it. Now I live in 0.0 and I'm a member of a corp with over 200 members. Kinda feel like a cog in th machine but the PVP is good. :)

To the OP, what kind of games do you like? Is it games that give you instant gratification or is it games that give you long term goals to build towards?

If this is your initial foray, then I would go with Guild Wars, as it's free (which is nice) graphically it's really good and runs on pretty average hardware, it has been patched and expansion packed up already and they have added some awesome features to it and it's generally well established.

If you are keen on Eve, I would actually recommend X3: Reunion instead, as it's offline, is just as epic and the combat is far more satisfying. Owning a destroyer is most fun. :D Depends if you are hankering for the online action or not.
