  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Glad to be back. I had gone back to work for a while, but it didn't work out.

Rangers and Cubs at 3:05 Central -- we are garaunteed a few more hours of being undefeated.

Baylor baseball guys beat Texas Southern last night in 11 innings -- they have won 5 in a row

I think we will quickly learn if Jon Daniels will have a future with this organization.

Rangers come back to beat Cubs 8-6 !
Great game and a sneak peek into what this line up can do. But still over what 13 LOB? That game should have been a blow out for the Rangers with Yu giving up 7BB. DeShields needs some significant improvement at the plate.

Rangers beat Cubs -- 11-10 in bottom of ninth -- score on a WILD PITCH! Amazing!
Saw that as I was coming in from church small group. Phone was buzzing on vibrate throughout the session. Have to remember to turn it off next time. :)

DeShields hit his first-ever Grand Slam today!
Rangers still losing, though...
Saw the replay. Lol terrible pitch by Hamels. I guess he did not want to walk a runner in and heard on bleacher report that plate ump had a tight strike zone. But that works both ways so nothing taken away from DDs heroics. Good on him. I thought he had another grand salami a few years back but can’t find any stats on that.

You posted about DeShields needing to get better at the plate, and he immediately responds with his career-first Grand Slam!
Mention another batter, RLH !!
Let me look at the box score....

He only came in to pinch hit but Guzman could use some help. So I’ll name Guzman.

How about Mazara with 4BB yesterday. That’s a good sign. So far the plate approaches for the young guns is good.

It was the radio announcer that said it was DD's first-ever Grand Slam -- I dunno...
Two-win STREAK!
Let's have Rangers go all the way to World Series!!
And a series win. Last year I think it was late April before we had a season series win.

Even though the starting pitching is horrendous right now, I think watching the Rangers will be exciting if the line up keeps delivering runs like the 2010 team.

@Anto9us @Gigimo

Another W and series win.

4-0 shutout tonight.

Finally a good outing by one of the starters 7 IP and 0 ER, Sampson had a nice game in relief the other night 6 IP and 1 ER. They keep this up Leclerc is going to be frazzled by the end of June, he already has pitched 4 INN and has 4 saves in 6 games.

Joey had 3 BB last night, it's kinda funny looking at stats like .222 BA and .440 OBP but hey I'll take it he's getting the job done. He's being very patient at the plate and is making his hits count, 2 game winning RBIs and scored the winning run in another. (Too bad they don't keep track of game winning RBIs anymore except at maybe the team level, MLB doesn't). He's not showing much power right now but eventually it will come. When opposing pitchers realize they can't get him out the way they used to he'll start seeing better pitches.

It's also kinda surprising to see them being 4-2 when so many guys are struggling at the plate, Choo, Guzman, DD, Mathis and Odor to some extent. But just like last night it shows they are getting the most out of their AB production, only 5 hits but they scored 4 runs off those few hits.

Another big win. 11-3 and now 5-2.

Volquez struggled again. Pen came in early and Springs three close to 60 pitches. Don’t know how long the pen can cover for our retread arms in the rotation.

But that was enough for a struggling Angels lineup. Considering there’s not much protecting the Angels half billion dollar man Trout. He got one dinger which was good for my fantasy team. :)
