• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

ummm... i have just been on schoolies which involves a week of partying and ummm drinking... generally i dont drink much... but on one of the nights my friends were all drunk and i was looking after them.. apparently too much because they told me i needed to loosen up... and so they made me scull a few drinks...
And due to being under the influence of alcohol... i made a mistake... and im confused about it...

I hurt myself... but im confused about whether i did it intentially... or if it was purely because i was under the influence of alcohol...
Because of being confused about this... im not sure whether i relly need to get help or not or whether i am ok... and if it was just a one off...
I really dont like talking to ppl about my feelings so i am hoping that it was just because i didnt know wat i was doing... but it worries me because i cant say honestly that i am positive it was... i dont if any of this makes sense... but...

I dont know... sorry...

the drunkenness is probably a big contributing factor.

Is it lawful where you live to be getting drunk at such a young age? just wondering.

another reminder, the bible makes allowance for drinking alcohol, but not habitual drunkenness. Please be careful with alcohol, it often encourages people to do things they are ashamed of, and it is also not so healthy for your body if you have too much.

Bec, you know what I think about this . Yes, the alcohol could have been a factor, but while it can make a person do some different things, it doesn't create entirely new situations. I really think you need to talk to someone about this as soon as you can sis .

Hi,

I've been around a lot of people that drank.

When they had too much to drink some of them did things they normally wouldn't do.

Don't know if it helps,
but it is first hand experience.

Chuck.

The most important thing is to look at how you feel about harming yourself because it could have just been something you did under the influence and that you wouldn't even consider doing again but if it feels like something you might consider doing you have to ask yourself why and try to talk to someone. It's always better to get help before you get deeply into it if that makes sense...
