in a few weeks I am to be going on my first mission trip. the problem is I am currently having serious doubts of my salvation and what my testemony is. I thought i was saved about 2 years ago but for the past few weeks now I feel as though I have no personal relationship with God and that im not grateful for the cross or that ive never seen God in his true glory. Ive been praying and reading the bible and I cant seem to find assurence of my salvation.

pray for me that the holy spirit will lead me into truth and direct my path. I know that noone comes to Christ without the holy spirit drawing him. Pray that I will be led by his "still small voice"

I know what the bible says about Christ being the only way but im not sure if thats just my head knowledge or heart knowledge.

ive been discussing this with my pastor and things are coming together for this trip and I can share christ with someone even though my confidence in my own salvation is low right now. I feel so awful about going and being expected to preach when my faith is so shaky right now but ive concluded that saved or not if I end up there it is because God wants me there otherwise I wouldnt be able to go.

You could say a prayer accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, even if you've already said such a prayer it would do no harm to re-affirm it.
Then you can rest in assurance that you are saved and rebuke those doubtful thoughts when they come.

I sense that this is the devil playing havoc with you, especially just before your trip. Remember that God is opening doors for you to go on this mission trip, and satan will do anything to keep you mouth shut from spreading the Gospel. You are saved, and the Lord is going to use you in a might way. Be still and let God. Rebuke the devil, stand firm on God's promises and he will flee from you.

Don't be swayed by the doubt, that's one of satan's biggies. Jesus is the author and perfecter of your faith, keep your eyes on Him and He will make your paths straight. And remember, His word is a lamp unto your feet and how beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news. And that is what you will be doing, is bring the good news to those who need it.

Trust in the Lord, I will keep you in my prayers

Praise the Lord!
Much better to go to the mission field with a humble and contrite spirit than an arrogant one!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Oh yes, His grace is more than sufficient for you. Know that the Lord will never leave you, nor forsake you. He will carry you, always.

ok Tommarow we leave. today I was at the bank and a man overghead that I was traveling. i soon found out he was from the place in Germany we are flying into. he said he comes from a family that understands the importance of the gospel and he busted out his wallet and gave me 120 dollars even after i said i had everything i needed. it was a Godsend.

im spiritually weak now but that was like a sign from God that I am supposed to go. also i had a last minute outpouring of monetary support.

Praise the Lord. He is opening doors for you, step through them, and just lean on Him, He is your strength.

I would have to agree with what everyone has said...When I first read your post the first thing that came to my mind was that satan is just trying to take you away from doing the Lord's divine work. It's amazing how these situations play out because you get a front row seat to the spiritual battle going on inside and all around you, but be confident in the Lord for his love and strength will guide your words, thoughts, and actions, and satan has no authority over you. I know a couple people that have the same problems happen to them right before they were to do a work of the Lord, but keep strong. I truly hope that the trip is going well, I will be praying for you, it is awesome what you are doing, I've always wanted to go on a Mission trip....maybe someday. Take care and God bless!

ok im back from the trip.

day one i woke up with the same thoughts and doubts they have stuck with me. im still praying for assurence. despitre that I preached the gospel and many got saved.

perhaps lacking assurence myself I was less likely to give someone false assurence. one guy on the trip seemed like he may have given false assurence to some. not everyone who prays to recieve Christ does it from their heart and so to tell some that just because they prayed a prayer may give them false assurence and thats what one guy did on a few occassions.

keep praying for me. its like no matter how much i see God working through me and answering my prayers I fail to be comforted and assured.

Lord, ythank you for this son of Yours.
Thank You that You have used Him to bring Your word to others.
Thank You for his faith and obedience despite his lack of assurance.
Lord, fill this young man's heart with the knowledge of Your love for him.
Give him peace, Father.
in the name of Jesus
Amen
