  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Being in a dorm, I know what a pain it is to miss your pets when you go to college. So, here's a thread to rant and rave about the pets you've had to leave behind while you went to college, or whatever.

I miss my two cats! I have a big, dumb, black maine coon called Agadabia (Dabi for short), who likes to catch bats and chew buttons, and generally sit on anything that stays still long enough. He also doesn't eat human food. Too dumb to recognize it as food, or something.

My other one is Paralipomenon (Pom for short), a two-year-old grey something or other that loves to knock things over in another room, get your attention there, then either steal your food or mess up whatever you WERE doing in the meantime.

I MISS MY CATS!

P.S. yep, my parents named 'em. They're philosophers. Go figure.

I left 2 cats and 3 dogs at home when I came to school. 1 boy cat named Rascal...he's white with a tan striped tail and light blue eyes. 1 girl cat named Peaches...she's light brown with a white and tan striped tail and greenish eyes. 2 girl dogs, a dark brown chihuahua named Hershey and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Snuggles. 1 boy dog, an Australian Shepherd named Rocket.

An 8-year old girl dog named Madison, she's a mutt. Best dog ever; she's insanely friendly but not jumpy or anything. Loves to play "the flinch game" and pretend to attack people while doing it (the worst she does is mouth you).

Oh well, my sister would miss her even more than I do; the dog is practically an extension of her. Wonder how she'll do once she's in college in about 2 years.

I left two dogs at home. One of them was my dog Rex. Oh, how I loved him so! I'd had him since I was in fourth grade, and it was through him that Christ showed me my major(wildlife biology). Mind you, I'd decided to major in this while in fourth grade. I always hate to leave my dogs behind, and this time leaving I lost Rex. I'm not sure how he died, but I've a faint fear that someone killed him.:cry:

My other dog Chiyo. I got him as a puppy this past April. He's absolutely adorable, and I hated having to leave him again considering I'd only had the summer to bond with him. Not to mention that Rex is not there anymore to protect him...or even to show him the secrets of the neighborhood....

I hope to be able to get another puppy although I want him to be here with me.

I am actually torn as to whether or not I should stay at home next year and just drive to my classes or live on campus. There are other reasons why I'm considering not living on campus, but leaving my dog is pretty much the biggest dissuasion for me. My dog is a retired service dog and to use the words of willard3, my dog is sort of like an extension of myself. He is 12 (will be 13 when I start university) and I just don't know if I can leave him. I couldn't take him with me and live in an off campus apartment because he would miss my family and they would miss him.
