I was taking a stroll on the boardwalk after a rain one day and I came across this little fella. At first I walked right past him/her, barely noticing. Then, I turned around and went back. I took over 75 shots of this snail, trying to get just the right one. This is my favorite. I hadn't been using my digital camera very long and it took me a while to figure out how the macro function worked. You know, snails move slowly, but not as slowly a me with my camera. :D

Thank you. It was shot with a Fujifilm FinePix S7000.

All of my film prints were shot with a Minolta X-570. I wish they made a Digital that was as simple to use as my Minolta. I'm still trying to learn how to use my Fuji. Do they have to be so complicated?

I have a few attempts floating around somewhere where I tried an effect like that when I was washing an airplane for a flight school once. I got the plane all nice and clean, then soaked the pavement around it and got some nice shots of it in the sunshine with the reflection of the aircraft. It turned out pretty decent.

I find that boredom and monotony is my greatest inspiration. :)

did you edit the photo first or did you put it up straight?

I put it straight up.

I find that when I play with photo's I come up with things like this:

I get a little carried away sometimes. :p

This is the same snail from a different angle overlaying a photo I had of an owl. Of course I extremely manipulated the snail. :D

I think your photography is wonderful.

As you can see above, I get carried away when I play with photoshop. Over the past couple of years I have just begun to explore my creative side. There are others in my albums, if you like this sort of thing. It's not everyone's cup of tea though. ;)

Its a snail get over it.

How rude! Snails are beautiful creatures that should be revered and taken very seriously. In fact, I may be justified in saying that snails are the most wonderful beings on this planet. They never shun or ridicule you like people and they will never reject you or burn you or force you to lock yourself up in your room for your entire life because you are so terrified of facing more people that if you have to go outside you might just die.

And they will never ruin your stuff like a dog or a cat.

Snails are amazing. How dare you talk so badly about them. I reject the praise you gave me in the anime forums. We are very different people. Never talk to me. You sicken me with your rudeness.

This is an amazing picture OP. You captured the beauty of the snail perfectly, but I don't really like snails that much. You should have taken a picture of a starfish instead.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
