Actually, it is illegal. Falsifying business records, issuing false financial statements, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and conspiracy to falsify business records are all illegal. The specific law is New York Executive Law § 63(12).

You're free to disagree with the law, or with the judge's decision if you choose to...but the fact is, Trump broke the law and was found guilty and liable in a court of law, based on the evidence.

And yeah, others have done the same thing...and were also found guilty. Including Exxon Mobil and Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli.

I read the summary and saw that the decision was very long - so I was hoping you could point out the evidence of the claim that was made in the decision.

I'm refraining from doing so because it's way off topic for this thread, and that kind of thing is frowned upon here.

By the way, if you're curious about what happens in a trial when there's a lack of evidence, check out any of the 60+ court cases where Trump tried to challenge the 2020 election results, practically all of which were thrown out for lack of evidence.
