CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am frustrated with our gossiping FRG. Things weren't that bad when all I had to do was not show up to meetings to be free from their loose tounges. Now that our guys are closer to redeploying the gossip is starting to get personal. They are now calling people claiming to have "official" information about our guys. It is emotionally draining and disheartening to deal with. I am at the point where I don't care when the guys come home as long as they come home healthy. The only phone call that I want is the one telling me to pick my husband up. The BN CDR has been notified about this nonsense but it is frustrating because the biggest gossiper is one of the CDR's under him! Stress makes people do crazy things. I pray that these people find God and learn to lean on Him.

Thank you for the offer, Greg. I'll let my wife know, but her situation has been pretty easy since she's only had to deal with 4 month or shorter deployments for me.

well I have a dad who is in the air force he is not in iraq but he has came close twice but yea I know what all of you go through becuase now we have a close friedn in fallujah who has gone twice. But I do not let that scare me for I am gonna join the air force in 07.

im a member of the british forces and have not been back from Iraq where i became a christian so understand what goes on out there, hopefully all the forces will be home safe soon and peace will come to the people of iraq

Hey, Greg. Thanks for this thread. Wish I'd seen it sooner. I've got 2 in the AF and 2 Marines: My brother (M) and his wife (AF) are in Okinawa, my other bro (AF) is in 'Vegas at Nellis AFB, and one "unofficially adopted" bro (M) in California. My Okinawa bro was supposed to go help with the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka, but ended up *not* going.--> Please pray; my bro and sis-in-law are having a baby any day now!!
I've started a thread *specifically* for spouses of active-duty (ie. current, includes R/NG) military personnel titled Military Spouses Support!GOD BLESS.
