"Alvarez arrived in June under the parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans (CHNV). The policy was first announced for Venezuelans in October 2022, which allowed a limited number to fly directly into the U.S. as long as they had not entered illegally, had a sponsor in the U.S. already and passed certain checks.
In January 2023, President Biden’s administration announced the program was expanding . . . ".

The woke approach to crime combined with the Biden/Harris border disaster.

There seems some doubt as to whether he was released. From here: Man accused of child rape at migrant shelter indicted

'He pleaded not guilty on Thursday, March 14, in district court and was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. He was then deemed dangerous and remains in custody without bail.'

But from here: ICE arrests Haitian national accused of raping girl at Rockland shelter

'Alvarez was granted bail “due to the inconsistencies in the evidence and the alleged victim’s version of events, lack of physical evidence, and [because] the surveillance did not support the claim,” his lawyer, Brian Kelley, told The Boston Globe at the time.'

Assuming he was given bail, for the reasons noted, ICE arrested him shortly afterwards. I'm not sure what the problem is here. He was in the country legally.

Many have been flown in by the Biden/Harris administration. They refuse to tell the American people how many. You're right, he came in legally as per the article below, however:

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection admitted Alvarez into the United States lawfully June 26, 2023, in New York, New York. However, Alvarez violated the terms of his lawful admittance.
The Rockland Police Department arrested Alvarez on March 14. Later that day, the Hingham District Court in Hingham arraigned Alvarez for aggravated rape of a child, 10 years age difference. Later that day, ERO Boston lodged an immigration detainer against Alvarez with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 27, however, Plymouth County Superior Court of Brockton refused to honor ERO Boston’s immigration detainer and released Alvarez from custody on a $500 bond."

It tells you that in the article to which you linked.

Again, I'm not seeing a problem. Someone legally in the country is charged with a crime and arrested by ICE. And..?

The problem is that there is not a proper vetting or control of those coming into our country.

If you are suggesting that there should be a guarantee that no-one allowed into the country will ever commit a crime, then I have to say that that is a somewhat naive position. And a largely unwarranted concern. It has been shown in very many threads that the crime rate amongst immigrants is significantly lower than that of the general public. It looks like I'll have to show it again.

From here: https://www.npr.org/2024/03/08/1237...it-crimes-than-us-born-americans-studies-find

'Some of the most extensive research comes from Stanford University. Economist Ran Abramitzky found that since the 1960s, immigrants are 60% less likely to be incarcerated than U.S.-born people.
There is also state level research, that shows similar results: researchers at the CATO Institute, a libertarian think tank, looked into Texas in 2019. They found that undocumented immigrants were 37.1% less likely to be convicted of a crime.'

Stop listening to the junk Trump tells you and don't use a one off incident to try to justify what he says.

Many have been flown in by the Biden/Harris administration. They refuse to tell the American people how many. You're right, he came in legally as per the article below, however:
Being allowed to fly in and being flown in are different things. That statement is misleading.
On June 27, however, Plymouth County Superior Court of Brockton refused to honor ERO Boston’s immigration detainer and released Alvarez from custody on a $500 bond."
As noted in the post you were replying to, the defendant (Alvarez) was released after a hearing because the evidence against him was so weak.
