Yes, I know. There are fifty bazillion add-ons. But this is NECCESSARY. Look at my name, you'll see why. There is a Silmarillon add on, but that is FAR before anything like this. But this has a time period too. This is about forty years before The War of the Rings. (ex. Before Frodo finds out that Bilbo's old Ring is the One Ring.) SO...you get to post your charcter, it DEFINETALY can be one from lotr, you just get to either have an old one, or make it grow up throughout the story. We'll get to the actual story eventually.

RULES:

Your character must be one of the following- Valar, Maiar, orc, wizard, elf, human, hobbit, dwarf, animal. Animals cannot talk. (If I've left anything out, do not hesitate to correct me.)

Romance is SO allowed in this. But be nice.

Limited gore.

Keep at least a minimal amount to the plot of lotr, once we get to the war of the rings. But it has to begin a little earlier than that. You can have other plots as well that branch out, such as love triangles, nation rivalry, etc.

Of course, dont kill another person's charcter without permission. Unless there is consent, dont me rude to other people's characters. If someone is OBVIOUSLY hinting they want something to happen, go along with it, or talk to them in private.

HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!:D

Okay. The plot is about forty years before the War of the Ring. This is the time to set up your characters. (Traumatizng events that they carry with them throughout their life, love 'affairs', possibly even starting out with their mother and father.) I want this to be big, and so we are starting early so that we can completely understand the backround of everyone's character. If you disagree with this, join ten pages from now. :D People are just beginning to see strange things start to happen. The Ring is still in the possession of Gollum. 'A shadow grows in the East, whispers of a Nameless Fear.' Feel free to start the story whenever. Let's try not to let this die!

Araethir looked out her window, the wind blowing through her long blonde hair. She sighed deeply, and looked down at her hands. The night before played through her mind.

She had been walking with her father out in the garden.
"Araethir," he had said. "I have something very important to tell you."
"Yes father?"
She faced him. When he told her that she was betrothed, she was shocked. "Father, I...why?"
"I thought it best for you. You disaprove my choice?"
"By no means. I had only hoped, that when I marry it would be for love. I had hoped I would have been able to choose."
The conversation had ended there. He had not replied. And now today, she would ride with her father to meet him. She felt hopeless. And yet, for some reason, she felt a spark of hope inside. Maybe this was meant to be? she wondered.

Araethir mounted her horse, and rode next to her father for quite a while. When they finally reached the home of Thranduil, she spotted the King waiting for them. Araethir dismounted after her father, and stepped in line behind him. Thranduil and her father talked a while, and when Thranduil introduced his son, Legolas, Araethir felt excitment rush through her.

She tried to slow her breathing. Nurlach stepped aside, and motioned for Araethir to step forward. She removed her hood, and stepped next to her father, not daring to look up.
"Thranduil, Legolas, my daughter Araethir."
Araethir glanced up at Legolas, and stopped breathing altogether. She smiled, and bowed slightly. Legolas did the same.

A few moments went by, as Thranduil and Nurlach talked. Araethir glanced at Legolas, at the same time as he looked at her. Their gaze met. Araethir was taken aback once again. She couldn't believe it!
Earlier you were wishing this day would never have come, and now you're being transfixed by the Prince before you. Araethir smiled, and looked down at the ground. She took a deep breath.

Legolas tried not to stare at the maiden before him. But he couldn't help it. She was lovely. He had tried to come up with an excuse to not be there to meet her, but now he was glad he had. He felt he should say something, but he didn't know what. His father and Nurlach were buisily talking, and Thranduil finally invited them in. Nurlach agreed, and the four made their way inside.

Nurlach walked next to Thranduil. Legolas held out his arm to Araethir. She accepted, and let him escort her inside, all the while, keeping her eyes fixed in front of her. They made their way into a huge dinning hall, glittering like precious jewls, as the sun beamed through the silver windows. Legolas pulled a chair out for her, and she sat, taking in another deep breath.

Legolas sat next to his father, across from Araethir. He still had not spoken a signle word to her, and felt he should. But he didn't know what to say. Instead he sat, and didn't speak a word. She didn't either. He wanted to hear her speak. But he did not want to speak. Not yet.

When the time came, for Nurlach and Araethir to leave, Legolas once again escorted her out. This time, he made an effort to speak. He took her hand and kissed it. "I enjoyed metting you." he said, hoping she would speak.
She bowed, and said "I enjoyed meeting you as well. I hope to see you again soon."
"I shall look forward to it." Legolas said.

Araethir felt herself blush. She smiled, and mounted her horse. Nurlach said his farewells, and they were off. Araethir was still smiling, when she tied her horse up, and walked to her room. She went to her window, and looked out of it, as she had that morning. Only this time, she couldn't wait to see Legolas again.

Not much, but it's a good beginning.

The night was chill and damp. Laurea tossed fitfully on the bed before she gave up on sleep -- lying still as possible, she stared at the rafters of their dwelling. She had warned Awai that it was dangerous to live so far from Rivendell, but he laughed at her fear and made things seem safe again.

Nothing will come nigh us, Lasse, he'd assured her, his eyes shining. We are of the high elves.

She was doubtful. The darkness has grown, she'd protested. There are rumors --

Bah! Rumors! he'd said nothing more but she was even more uncomfortable. But he was adamant. The woods were his birthplace, he would not abandon it.

Something stirred in the darkness. She shuddered and pulled the blanket closer under her chin. But finding no comfort, she slipped out from under it and dressed quickly. She ran to check on their little baby, Eonwe. The cradle swung gently as she looked down into it, her shocked eyes seeing nothing. The cradle was empty.

A tiny cry like a wounded bird choked itself from her, and she whirled around at the sound of a hiss from the other room. "S'death!" Flinging her courage to the wind, she fled from the rooms. She reached the path and ran towards the river, a speedy dart of white in the dark, slim shadows of the forest. Her bare feet slapped the road softly and her hem was torn in a dozen places where the briars caught at them. She caught a glint of water between the treetrunks and she was sliding down the steep bank. Night wrapped it's dark mantle around her.

~ﺄﺅﺆﺇﺈﺉﺊﺋﺌ~ﺱﺲﺳﺴﺵﺶﺷﺸ~

'By the golden stretch of the haven shore,
A child was born to the sound of the sea
Her hair was dark and her eyes were deep,
A daughter of legend and lore

'Akin to the ancients of times long ago
Her path was chosen long since
She e'er set foot upon golden sands
Nor seen the white of winter's snow

'She was taken away from where water meets sky
To a dark brooding land of evil and death
Where she fled from the havens to find destiny
To take the path her doom brought her nigh

'She came at last to the cold distant shores
Where once more she followed her doom
To the far western land where no evil treads
And the maiden Tuilendo ended all wars.'

Excerpt from the Red Book of Westmarch -- added by descendants of Perigrin Took

~ﺄﺅﺆﺇﺈﺉﺊﺋﺌ~ﺱﺲﺳﺴﺵﺶﺷﺸ~

Nyeena adjusted the knife at her side, her eyes roving constantly over the landscape. Her goal was set in her mind, but her destiny would take her elsewhere. A glint of light was seen in the distance, and she felt anger flood her being. The orcs had taken the Western pass, then. She must somehow find her way west.

She wheeled Silme and leapt down the hill. If the orcs came not to her, she would come to them -- and if she fell, she'd take some with her.

Her dark blue-violet eyes deepened and flashed from the depths. Her mind was set -- westwards or North until she reached the shore. Then, a ship to the west.

Rivendell was two days behind her, Caradhras to the east. What lay before her ten days? Lothlorien.

The orcs would have a bad fight of it. Her path led her through the pass.

~ﺄﺅﺆﺇﺈﺉﺊﺋﺌ~ﺱﺲﺳﺴﺵﺶﺷﺸ~

The unlucky orc stood up from drinking from the water, not even noticing the waning light that reflected off of his spearpoint. Had he, he might have stopped the slaughter that would arrive on the heels of the dapple-grey stallion.

~ﺄﺅﺆﺇﺈﺉﺊﺋﺌ~ﺱﺲﺳﺴﺵﺶﺷﺸ~

Düath ignored the cumbersome orcs that surrounded him. He glared at the huge, hulking beast before him. "You let it escape?" He gestured towards the mangled wire mesh that had once housed the powerful eagle. "It might have been one of Thorander's eagles!"

The orc cowered from him. In his wrath, the Dark Elf was much more powerful than him. It was because of this that Saruman left him in his natural form.

Düath raised his sword. It was but work of a moment to slay the unlucky orc. He wiped the blood from his blade and nodded to the person beside him. "You see how they must be treated? Come, let us go." The creature nodded and they mounted, riding East.

~ﺄﺅﺆﺇﺈﺉﺊﺋﺌ~ﺱﺲﺳﺴﺵﺶﺷﺸ~

If someone wants to be the creature, I'd appreciate it. My creative juices are running low.

I hope this is on the next page, I hate it when the page is stretched. ANYWAYS.....since DARRIONS already started with Legolas, I'll go ahead and let Celandine and Frodo be born. Boy Wonder might decide to be Frodo, but until he decides, I am going to play that part. Just so you know, right now Frodo is 14 and Celandine is not really in the story yet.

Frodo shuffled his feet, and looked at the ground as he rang the doorbell of his uncle Biblo's rather impressive hobbit hole. He was leaving his Brandybuck relatives and coming to live with his Baggins uncle, who was rumored to be rather strange. Gossiping hobbit folk said that he liked to explore, which was quite unnatural for a hobbit, a Baggins especially. But Frodo didn't mind, he rather liked exploring and adventures himself. He had to ring the doorbell several times before a jolly, grey haired hobbit came to the door. "Why, you must be Frodo! Welcome, welcome, I'm delighted you accepted my invitation to come and stay!" Bilbo said, smiling and beckoning Frodo in. "Thank you very much for allowing me to come and stay. I'm eternally indebted to you. But I'm afraid if I had stayed with those horrible Brandybucks another minute I would explode." Frodo said, placing his bags in the guest room and looking around. "This is a very nice hobbit hole, Mr.Bilbo." Frodo said. "Oh, thank you. And do call me just Bilbo. No need to be so polite here." Bilbo said laughingly.

Thanks a lot Kookaburra!! :D I appreciate it. *sigh* I'm at school right now. Math. It's SUCH a drag! I just took a test on the computer and so now I have free time to do whatever I want. I HATE math. We watched this motivational video thingie today in an assembly. It was actually pretty cool. And the best part-They showed clips from LotR over and over! They even showed really little quick things from tTT AND RotK. It was cool. i was like, nudging my friend who was sitting next to me becayse she knows that i LOVE LotR. She likes it too, but not as much as me! So ANYWAYS, (sorry I blabbed so much there, you can see how bored I am.)

Celandine kicked the door. She had just gotten thrown out by her own family, just because she talked so much about how much she liked to travel and have 'adventures'. So un-hobbit like. She picked up her few bags and slung them over her shoulder. She didnt care, anyways. Her whole family was so boring and they never did anything fun. She didnt miss them. She never would. She wiped a tear from her eye. Trying to convince herself of this wasn't working.

Araethir walked to the stables, and mounted her horse. He was a white horse, with some grey around his hooves. She rode him through the forest, until she came to a lighted clearing. A small field of flowers, with the sun pouring in lay infront of her. She dismounted and walked around. She had often come here to think and dream of the future. This place had a certain connection to her heart that she couldn't describe. When there was turmoil around her, she could come here and feel at peace.

A sudden noise behind her caused her to jump. She turrned and sighed. Smiling, she said, "I didn't hear you comming. You startled me."
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here." Legolas said as he dismounted his light-brown horse. Araethir's heart began to beat widly, as he approached.
"You like to come here to?" he asked.
"Yes. I come here often times to think. And sometimes just to enjoy the beauty." she said glancing around her. Legolas nodded.
"I often come her just to be alone, and to sort out my thoughts. I didn't know anyone else knew of this place."
"I just happened to find it one day while ridding my horse. It's rather hard to find, hidden by the trees and brush. I was lucky to fint it a second time."

Araethir and Legolas talked for some time, the subject changing often. When the time came, Araethir mounted her horse and left the field, her heart returning to it's normal beat. She smiled. She enjoyed spending time with Legolas. His eyes were captivating. At times she caught herself staring into his eyes, and would look back down at her hands.

Legolas watched Araethir leave. He'd enjoyed her company, and hoped he'd find her here again. He felt a connection with her, that he'd never felt before. He liked having her around. Her smile nearly made him melt in his spot. He had explained this feeling to his father, and his father had said he was in love. Legolas had denied it, but deep down he was beginning to believe Thraduil had been right.

My my, we're a little um, how you say...OBSESSED today? Oh well. Me too. :D

Celandine kicked the door a few more times, letting her aggression come through her foot. She sighed and wiped the few remaining tears from her cheeks. She had to be strong now, she had always been that way. She tucked a few stray curls behind her small ears and walked away from that house, that horrid place. On second thought, she sat down on the doorstep. She pulled a quill pen and pad from her bag, dipped the pen in some ink, and wrote a quick note.

To Whom it may concern,

She was feeling nasty.

I guess this is for good. You never seemed to hesitate bringing me back in the other twelve times you kicked me out, but that was never with my bags completely packed. So this is the final goodbye. I'll have you know however, I always loved every single one of you, and never meant to hurt you. For that I am sorry. But if I am far beyond the unpardinable sin, then just know that I am sorry, no matter if you forgive me or not. I shall be in the Wilds, if you ever want me for some unfathomable reason. Perhaps some day I shall come back to make sure you are all well. Until then, I remain a very sorry yours,

Celandine

She then slid the note under a loose piece of wood on the door, picked up her bags, and made for Bree.

Frodo was reading a book by a small brook when he heard his uncle Bilbo calling him. Frodo dropped his book and ran as fast as he could, because the voice sounded urgent. When he went inside Bag End, he felt something quite queer was going on. He went into Bilbo's room, and as he went in, two dwarves went out! He was utterly shocked. They did nothing but nod to him and continue through the hallway and out the door. "Bilbo, who were they?" Frodo asked, his voice giving away that he was dumbfounded. Bilbo smiled, bnut it was a pained smile, and a shadow passed over his face. Frodo couldn't help but notice that Bilbo was fingering something in his pocket. "Why, Frodo, always so curious. They are just some old friends. From my adventure long ago, the one I've told you about many times." Bilbo said, with a hint of defense in his voice. "Of course, Bilbo. I apologize, It's none of my business who comes to visit you. Now, what did you want me for?" Frodo said, now feeling embaressed as well. "Well, I wanted your opinion. My 100th birthday is coming you know, and I really dont know what kind of party I should have. Of course, it shall be your party as well, our birthdays being the same day and all. But I'm not sure whether to make a large deal, or to invite simply a few friends over for a good chat. You see, my 111th party will be even more magnificent, so I am not sure whether to do something grand or to wait another 11 years." Bilbo said, his hand still in his waistcoat pocket, very obviously turning something over and over. "I, I dont know what to say, Bilbo. You really shouldn;t trouble yourself over it today. you're looking tired. you should rest." Frodo said, his eyes filled with concern. Bilbo nodded. "Perhaps you're right, perhaps you're right."

Well! Hey! It has been a while, and I will catch up on the storyline later (bleh) but for now, here is my character:

Name: Tanis Lightbringer
Age: (you can never tell with the elves, can you?)
Gender: Male
Species: Elf
Personality: A very keen, wise elf. Educated beyond most, and close friend of all. He is very well known (hero type guy) among the elves of ShallowWaters Forest (I made that up, hehe) for being a hero in many battles. Strong with the bow and short and long sword.
Apperance: Five foot eleven with dark oak hair. Wears a dark green trench coat over his light green elven armor.
History: Faught in many battles, Mordor against the Dark Lord and many others to save his native Forest. He is a traveler by nature, a wandering legend. Most elves know his name and recognize him as the fighter next to the elven kings (in whom he is a descendant)

For right now I will just introduce him, like I said, I will need to read the storyline to tie him into it :D
------------------------

Tanis stood from the tree, his keen eyes scanned the horizon. He sensed dawn and so he dropped from the tree. Looking around, he sensed something, but could not tell what it was.

Tanis looked towards the horizon, the sun slowly making its way down the distant mountains. He could see the colored rays of the dying light paint the landscape.
----------
Pulling his long bow, Tanis saw two people slowly making their way over the hill off in the distant. He could make out their faces, an elf and a human. They were warriors, carrying a sword and one with a bow. Tanis slung his own bow back over his shoulder and snaked his way into the tree...He did not want to be seen at this moment, he was still in deep thought on the current feelings he was recieving...
