  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is the latest in US military 'non lethal' weaponry, supposedly used as some sort of anti-riot control device.

This ADS device could also be deployed to use against enemy machines such as tanks by aiming at said vehicle, disabling it without killing or seriously maiming any individuals. It looks like we are a few steps closer towards the 'ray guns' so often dreamt up in sci-fi.

Though, me thinks with an increased power intake and output, this could become the latest in ICBM defense. And that's only what the US is working on.

India seems to be taking it one step further with the Kali.

This pulse power gigahertz microwave beam weapon is designed in mind to improve upon it so that it may have an application of shooting down ICBM's.

The next step after creating such systems to shoot down ICMB's will be to place them in orbit. What happens if either India or US decides to do this. There are currently international laws opposing nuclear weapons in space. But who is going to stop them when weapons like these will shoot down any ICBM, destroy aircraft carriers and scorch entire cities.

If you were/are a big fan of Command and Conquer (like myself) I hope this stimulates your interest. It appears that the words of my high school US history teacher were corrected 'You are like a generation of guinea pigs waiting for these weapons and tactics to present themselves so that you may understand how to conduct such operations.' Pretty cool when you think about it. I think I could at least be able to obtain Major ranking if this were true. The Illuminati have been hard at work. ^_^

Well... the cheapo microwave wouldn't be operating at the frequency most military weapons are. Obviously this varies, but for instance in one of the links it has a military system using 95ghz, whereas home micrwaves are 2.4ghz. The cheapo microwave would also not be focused, so you'll end up filling up most of the room. At those frequencies you typically cause damage to soft tissue inside bodies, but at the low power home microwaves are (actual output varies from 500 to 2000 watts) you'll have to expose yourself to them for a while before serious damage occurs.

This isn't to say broken home microwaves aren't a health hazard. You don't want to end up sterile with cataracts... but they don't make much of a weapon unless you can stuff your enemy inside and leave him there for a bit.
