Now how in the world do you become a michigander ya know. Seriously. what atributs dose a michigander have to have anyway? how long do you have to live in michigan b4 u can be called one?

Ive been in Lansing for 24 years - do I qualify?

I've been here for 21 years... never lived anywhere else. I think I count as a Michigander.

I'm from Illinois, but have lived in Michigan going on eight years. My favorite 'Michigan name for tourist' is FUDGIES. Course it took a couple years for my inlaws to stop calling me one.

Lol, The nearest Meijer to me is in Saginaw...about two and a half hours away...we do play Euchre a lot. I mow a lot only in the three summer months...well, two and a half this year, otherwise it is winter!

And I go downstate for vacation...I live up north, so life is kind of a vacation for me!!

hmm.. where have I been? I was born n raised here, n stayed here.. n I never heard of Yoopers, fudgies, or flatlanders. Is that an up north thang?
nearest meijer that I know of is a few miles in Livonia. Mowing grass?.. mine's usually long (it's long at the moment)

Some of those things are kind of up north things...Yoopers are people who live in the U.P., where as those that live in lower Michigan are known as trolls. Fudgies are actually people who live and/or work on Mackinac Island...but a lot of people say that anyone who lives up north are fudgies. And flatlanders are anyone who lives south of say, Midland.
