Jesus is Michael and it is one of many names for Jesus. Nothing changes with the story, it’s just another name for Jesus, who is the Greatest Messenger and our Savior
Ok so He is an archangel according to you, the JW;'s and others?

No, the JW believes that Jesus is a created being, not God. Jesus is God who goes by many names in scripture.

Ok, so far you've said Jesus is not an angel but that He is Michael who is an archangel but now also God. I'm confused.
Jesus is not a created being, like the angels. Angels just means messenger and Jesus is God who goes by many names in scripture Michael being one of them, the Greatest Messenger.

What scripture do you reference to stand by your point?

It is my understanding, Michael the archangel is Jesus
If so, why is He called 'the archangel?

I did in detail on post 10 and 11.
.

Thank you and that certainly is a lot of detail. Thanks for posting it.
====================================

Archangel means prototype, first, primary.

God the Son was "The Word" John 1:1 - from the very beginning so his role in creation was always to convey truth about infinite God to finite created beings. So He appears as an Angel for Angels, and as a man for humans in the incarnation. But he was never incarnate as an Angel only as a man.

In Gen 18 Christ and two angels appear in the form of "three men walking". This is the sense in which God the Son appeared in the form of the archangel.

What scripture do you reference to stand by your point?

In Dan 10 we see "Michael your prince" is the name and title given for Michael.

In Isaiah 9:
6 For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

So then He is "given to us", and He is both GOD and Prince as Is 9 reminds us.
So then that is the only prince in heaven given to us - and Dan 9 says His name is Michael.

What is more Heb 1 tells us that all the angels of God serve and worship God the Son - and in Rev 12 we see that "Michael and HIS angels" are at war with the devil.
