It appears President Biden has been successful in making a deal with Mexico to contribute to border security.

Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador agreed to spend US$ 1.5 billion to improve “smart” border technology during meetings Tuesday with US President Joe Biden — a move the White House says shows neighbourly cooperation succeeding where the Trump administration vows to wall off the border and have Mexico pay for it could not.

A series of agreements announced by the Biden administration pledged joint actions to modernize and improve infrastructure along key parts of their 2,000-mile (3,200-kilometre) border, enhance law enforcement cooperation against fentanyl smuggling and promote clean energy.

This is so absurd …..

This is like standing in your yard with the sprinklers on, and paying your neighbor to open his umbrella so you don’t get wet.

It’s Trump’s success. Without him, there’d be no wall to invest in.

He said he’d make Mexico pay for it…
Trump did not get Mexico to pay for anything.

Mexico is not investing in the wall.

"Mexico has agreed to pay for a number of projects through a joint multiyear effort along the countries’ borders, including “modernizing” ports of entry and enhancing screening processes of immigrants trying to cross from Mexico to the U.S. The exact details of the new projects are still being worked out, but, the official said, the new agreement will not result in the building of any kind of wall or border barrier. So just to make sure I'm up to speed... Investing in border security isn't racist now?

Isn't "smart border technology" just a high tech version of the same thing a wall was supposed to accomplish?

...not necessarily. We don't have enough details yet...but “modernizing” ports of entry and enhancing screening processes of immigrants trying to cross from Mexico to the U.S. is a different focus than building walls in remote areas of the desert.

Mexico's not investing in a wall; they're investing in smart security...

He said he’d make Mexico pay for it…

And Biden has succeeded where Donald had failed... again.
