I see your back to troll, huh? What is your malfunction, man. Since when are we coming in threads and bashing rap? Oh! You mean since there are some here that don't like rap, then everyone who likes Metal automatically hates it? Is that right? Your crazy, man! Your just here to troll and stir up controversy!lol, I think I've finally figured it out. It's okay to bash rap on this site but its wrong and evil to bash metal? Wow.
Just ignore him. Everyone just ignore him, and he won't be able to make anyone mad. This thread was closed down last time because his trolling, and he's trying his best to get it closed again. Don't flame him or say anything to him, because if you call him out on anything, then he'll report you.Slim- I don't bash rap!
Good idea! It was nice talking to you, too!Yeah! I agree with you as far as the lyrics. But there is really great Christian metal out there. The heavy sound is something a lot of people don't appreciate. Perhaps you should start a thread just discussing the conflicts between being a Christian and still loving this music. Nice talking to you!
Thank you. He will be ignored for now on in this thread.just a reminder, this thread is for members to discuss heavy metal music. Not to bash the genre or to promote other genres, or to attack other members.
Now, play nicely.![]()
Yea, Becoming The Archetype are a great band. I like some of their older stuff better than some of their new, but they are still a great band.Yeah, I like Metal.
Off the top of my head, these are the bands I listen to:
Mastodon
Becoming the Archetype
Living Sacrifice
Job for a Cowboy
Killswitch Engage
So, back to the Metal. I'm not a huge fan of Black Metal because of the lyrics and occult imagery and stuff. I would like to know your opinions on these things, because I think it would be a pretty cool discussion.
I've been reading up on some Black Metal lately. Just read an article in Guitar World about Emperor, and it was a pretty good read. I was happy that they denounced the church burnings and stuff. Now, Samoth was arrested for that stuff, but him and Isahn said that they were young and that it was a scene they were stupidly following. You would have to read the article, because it's a pretty good read. By the way they talked, I didn't get the feeling that they were satanists. I'm just not one for the Black Metal lyrics. I don't like supporting the bands that believe in the church burnings such as Gorgoroth, Mayhem, and others. I might sound simple minded, but I just don't feel right listening to a band that wants to destroy my religion. On the contrary, I find some black metal culture really fascinating. Not that I really take any of it seriously, but the concepts and experimentation with the dark arts is just really interesting to me.
On a side note, Ozzy started sucking once Randy died. I mean really, in Ozzy's solo career, Randy carried him quite a ways. The new album is absolutely unendurable.
I've never hard that by Celtic Frost, I need to look it up. If any of the instruments are great, then that's a great sign. That's why I'm a big fan of Dream Theater. Every single player in that band is a stinking virtuoso!may as well mention a perennial favorite of mine, now that i'm really starting to dig it again: Wine in My Hand by Celtic Frost. hard thrashing headbanger, great bass. the best thing about it is the way they sandwich two awesome solos between crushing breakdowns, and the way you can hear the bass underneath the first solo.
maybe you can tell that i really like a good bass sound. audible but not overpowering, with a really jangly sound to it. that's one of the reasons i like Hypocrisy's Osculum Obscenum. and of course you really can't go wrong with distorted bass.

I was looking around on Myspace one day and I found a band named "With Faith Or Flames", and I really liked them after I heard their sound. Here's a link to them: Linkwell it's from their last album before they broke up, Vanity/Nemesis, which for a lot of people is their "forgotten" album. that's probably why you haven't heard it.
