Thank you for this message, David. Since all of my Mexican family members that I knew are long dead (my grandma, her sister, her mother), and I now live in a mixed Russian and Middle Eastern area (seems to be primarily Arab and Persian/Afghan), I don't get to commemorate this day anymore. I did as a kid, but not now. But I noticed it was happening today, so it's good to get this message as a reminder.

May God rest the souls of those who have come before us, and save us from the fire and the snares of the adversary.

I believe the eternal flame is simply a recorded memorial. God is not sadistic as to want to torture anyone eternally. My thoughts anyway. Does He not throw even death and the grave into the LOF at the end? (see Rev. 20:14).
