Per request of a band member, I'm asking for a poll on the following. If a member of the band decided to do a seperate, solo (or side project) album, away from the band, how many people would be interested in hearing the music, or seeing some independant stuff put on a CD?

Note: This does not mean that the band is in trouble, or breaking up! Members have shown interest in solo projects for some time and have oportunities to produce such albums at this time.

Any thoughts and prayers are definately appreciated. Thanks!!!

well some people think that independant projects are not a good choice and other people think the oppisite, but look at dc talk, they are taking a break and making their solo projects but plan to stay together as a group.

i like MercyMe, i dont know them individually, i just like the group, but if any of the band members releases an album that sounds remotely close to what mercyme sounds now, then i guess i would consider it, but then again dont take my word for it, i still havent bought Mercyme's album, i just know they are they greatest people ever becuase of their talent, their collective talent.

you're still missing the point. why are they worried about interest? what could possibly be the motive behind asking those questions?
sales.
listen, if God has put it on their hearts to do solo albums, then they should do them, not check out whether people will buy them first.

"They're not worried about pleasing the crowd, just want to see how many people would like to see something different from members individually"

err...this sentence is completely contradictory. i would explain why, but it's so blindingly obvious that i'll just leave it in the air for serious thought.
