Worrying about custody issues: best bet is to get hidden "nanny cams" so that if your wife is damaging the kids (threatening to kill herself if they don't behave, screaming, calling them abusive names) you will have lots of documented video for the attorney and the judge, and can hopefully get full custody (with supervised visitation for their mom). Do NOT leave your kids alone with that sort of problem!

Just a brief update, early Feb she took off with the kids, and refused to let me know anything, we got an emergency court hearing, a week later and she tried to file a restraining order against me, the judge denied the restraining order in Sharpie Marker across the top, and split custody until a full psychiatric evaluation was completed, we have to wait until may for the psyc eval,
my children are scared to go back to their mom's among other issues, while this seems to be taking for ever, at least things are seemingly going the right direction.
