Menstruation & Orthodox Practices

I was on another Orthodox forum where there were threads about restrictions for women during their periods. Anything to this?

There are canons about bodily discharges for both men and women with respect to communing. It just depends on one's spiritual father as to whether that will even be brought up in conversation or not. Some will never mention it, while some will tell their spiritual children to abstain during a period of discharge/menstruation. It's all about the spiritual needs/condition of the person when applying those canons.

Just to add, I've had a priest/spiritual father of both "persuasions"; one adjusts accordingly.
