• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Men... Why are they so hard to read?

Okay if you are standing in church talking to someone and a man comes up behind you and turns you around to hug you, wouldn't you take that he likes you.
As far as I know, there are two kinds of men that do that. The players and the women in men's bodies.

I think he is AWESOME!!!! But he goes through girlfriends wayyyyy to fast.
This is a bad sign.

Hmmm, shopping for men like you shop for clothes... what's the return policy like, or is it like shoes and you just keep 30 pairs standing by just incase you need one of them?

And to the OP... stop trying to read them and maybe just confront them about opening up... if they aren't willing to, then kick them to the curb! Just a thought.

Oh no, no return once packaging opened. Only ONE allowed per customer for sure, no need for 30 and besides they need a lot of care and attention so no time for more than one. Just got to make sure you pick the right one before you take him home :p

But then again, you should be praying about everything, even the small things like this, so that you're in God's Will. He'll tell you what is best for you, if you should go for it or not. The biggest mistake Christians make is not taking the small things of life to God. Well, also the big things too.

Well put!

In my book women are harder to read than men.

At least the men say up-straight that they're gay and think I'm hot. Women are all way too shy.
See I am very open and honest. Actually too open and honest. I call my pastor every time I do something major that I should not do.

That is quite frankly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life. If they are friends then it very much makes sense. Its called affection, some of us arn't afraid of it with our friends.

Strange place, I converted when I was in college. Everyone hugged everyone where I went to school. Yes that does mean we hugged other guys too.

Depends on the region/demographic/culture. Up here in the midwest hugging isn't something you generally do with family and SOs. In the south where my brother is and his wife is from, hugging is like shaking hands and wouldn't be taken seriously.

The school I went to was in the midwest. Valparaiso University, Valparaiso IN.

I live right now just outside of South Bend, IN

Maybe it was just the university that I attended. We are huggers at Valpo, but yet at the church I'm at now occasionally you get a hug but it isn't nearly as often. Its only regular with some of my closer friends at the church.

FUnny how each culture is different, leaving in ATL, yes they hug here.

Having lived in Argentina, the guy probably would have turned you around for a kiss on the cheek, that's how we greet people there, even those you are being introduce to for the first time, guys even kiss guys, and girls girls, and guys w/girls. We typically don't do the kiss each side, just the one. Granted people there are generally more warm anyway and less paranoid about affection or bodily contact then they are here in the US.
