  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tomorrow we celebrate Memorial Day here in the United States. It is a good day to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country.
I don't know how many members of this forum are fellow veterans or are currently in the military service, but I would like to ask everyone to say a prayer of thanks for all they have done and are doing to protect us.
Someday we may be blessed with peace in our world. But until then, I pray that our service men and women will be protected and will know just how much we value their sacrifices.

blessings, Lynn

Nurses! WOW! When I was in the hospital 4 years and 4 months ago with congestive heart failure, I fell in love with ALL my nurses. Especially the one who never said anything. She would just come in, do her thing, and place her hand on top of mind and stand there for a while, and when I looked up I saw my discomfort on her face. After a while she would leave as quietly as she came, and I felt better, and I knew everything was alright.

Nurses care and thier value is beyond measure. As a veteran who knows what death and suffering and horror look like, I can tell you, all veterans love and respect nurses.

Nursing is not a job. It is a ministry and a calling of God. Yes God bless our veterans, and thier families, especially those who have suffered and even made the ultimate sacrifice, and God bless nurses who care.

Gerry, that has to be one of the nicest things that I have read in a long time. and very much appreciated. I have always felt that my profession is a ministry and I treat it as such. It isn't always easy. The hours are long and the work physically demanding (some of the patients are demanding too but that's another story!).

God bless you, Lynn
