Hi, the doc put me on Seroquel for depression and anxiety, has this helped anyone?

Also,my experience with born again believers and my illness has been very negative, they are scared of mental illness, they do not believe it or they get tired of you and your illness.

No Seroquel didn't help me but don't let that discourage you for it might work for you. Often it is a bit of a search to find the right medications.

Yes I have also experienced the fear and disbelief of a lot of fellow believers, it has been a painful experience. It is best to pray for them and forgive them their often callous actions. It is not helpful to judge someone who is ill yet many of our brothers and sisters still have to learn that.

Stick to the ones who do love and encourage you for they are there as well.

Never heard of it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Yeah I don't like that a lot of Christians look down upon depression and are always so quick to blame it on spiritual things.

Depression may be caused by spiritual problems, but there's also a physical side to it as well sometimes that has nothing to do with a person's relationship with God.

I pray it works for you. And yes I have experienced rejection and disbelief because I happen to have some mental illnesses. Jeshu is right in what he said about them. God bless you.

It didn't work for me. I got weird muscle twitches and a crawling sensation after taking it. I noticed after a long while of taking it that my thinking started to change too.

Thanks for sharing. I hope it works, but I know I can not just depend on the meds, but God and therapy also.

I know I must forgive and not become bitter, but it really hurts...I pray and ask God to help me forgive. I am looking for a church and praying for friends.

Seroquel works for me - I get restless legs as a side effect, but if I take it just before going to sleep it's fine.

I know it hurts when other Christians don't believe mental illness is 'real' or tell you it's due to lack of faith etc. Hold on to what you know is true - God loves you, you are very precious to Him, and your illness is not your fault, any more that any physical disease would be.
