  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I personally think Medg. to be inauthentic at the least, and very likely of diabolical origin. However- I will wait for the Church's opinion-- in the meantime I find it far more prudent to venerate approved apparitions- such as Lourdes, Rue de Bac, Fatima, La Salette, and Guadalupe....

I don't see the validity of the apparitions as being an issue. You can go and vist and be in a beatiful part of the world where everyone is Catholic and have a wonderful little pilgrimage without bothering about the apparitions at all.
That is true, yes , that is true.

You stole the words right out of my mouth. I completely agree!

That pretty much is the Church’s stance right now on Medj. It is unknown about the apparitions but the Church has said it is a place of prayer and we are allowed to go there as a place of prayer, not to venerate the apparitions. As far as the validity of the apparitions, I have mixed feelings.

Garbindal. EWTN and Mother Angelica were promoting this one big time that was/is officially discouraged. Padre Pio even though it to be authentic. Anyone can be fooled.

I am a fan of medjugorje as my sig is the monthy message as just learning about this place two years ago, caused me to start to wake up and stop being such a lazy Catholic.

I plan on going there this summer and the main reason for the church being so cautious and not giving any official word is that they are still going on. So they can't pronounce something that is still going on.

I've heard the local bishop may have spoken that the events there are not of supernatural nature? In any case, it simply does not jive in the least with other authentic Marian visitations. The unbelieveable and prolonged length of them-what over 20 years now?! The supposed language of Our Lady certainly doesn't add up at all... the manner and nature of her words are wayyy off comparatively speaking.

One thing I would like to know about it though, do the seers see the feet of the apparition? If not this could be a possible indication of a possible preternatural origin, in which there is always a defect present in the figure, such as part of it missing, no feet, etc..

Good point. None of the content of the apparitions have gone against Church teaching though, have they? Oh well, no sense in debating. We'll just have to wait and see what the Church says!
God bless and love you!

Yes, thank God we have the Church and not ourselves being our own authority.

Yes God forbid anyone actaully starts comparing these Messages with Scripture to find out that they totally contradict God's Word.

No but seriously, if you're willing to believe this spirit the question really is what will you believe in next?
