There will never be any prospect for world peace until the nation state is rejected wholeheartedly throughout the world. To do this, try a simple exercise. Get a poitical map of the world, trace it onto plain paper. then, assuming you have used a pencil, rub out the international borders that mark out nations. Once you've done this you've made a start in the process of achieving world peace.

The nation state may work well for the rich economically powerful Western nations in the 21st century and indeed for much of the post war era in the 20th century but for third world nations that suffer from poverty in all its forms, the nation state is a terrible thing that only serve to perpetuate their problems.

There is no hope for world peace until Christ is among us once more, for it is written:

Not until then will there be peace. It would be nice if it were otherwise, but it simply won't happen, except by God's plan.

I think it would be far more effective to actually do something rather than wish. What exactly to do, is hard to say. For those not able to globe trot doing various good deeds, you can start right at home by not voting out of fear of imaginary threats or for your wallet's girth.

Well, it is not only wishing, but living according to it as well. And I guess not everybody is ready to understand, because we are still accepting that worldpeace is not a possiblility. Like my sig says: How can we change anything if we accept war and violence as something that is part of our lives?
