Jack had left looking for Dimond he was wearing a hooded clock over his head and taping a stick on the ground acting blind. He saw Ivan although Ivan didn't know jack Jack knew Ivan. Jack walked over to Ivan and said Excuss me but I'm looking for a friend of mine. Could you discribe her Ivan asked. Aye she's yea tall by the name of Rebekah Dimond. Ivan whispered to Jack are you Jack? Aye. Well Dimonds in prison. WHAt! Calm down I'm going to free her. Oh no your not I'm doing that she's like my sister and i'm not leting her rot in prison I have more than enough Gold to buy her freedom I just need someone to do me a favor while I;m gone. What? Go to the abandoned shack near the stables thats where dimond and I live keep an eye on the house don't go inside but make sure no one enters or leaves I'll pay you fifty gold coins when I return.

Ivan frowned, "I don't want your money. I'm also afraid that you can't buy her freedom."

"Why?"

Ivan shrugged, "I don't know, but trying to buy her freedom will only result in you getting arrested. Leave her freedom to me."

Jack glared up at him, "What reason do I have to trust you? You're probably the one that put her in there."

Ivan shook his head, "No, I didn't put her in there. What she did she did of her own accord."

Fern and Alex set on a stone wall on a hill over looking the city.
"Well, how are we supposed to get her out?" Alex asked walking back and fourth.
"Calm down Alex!" Fern said, "You'll never be able to think like that!"
Alex sat on the wall.
"Hmm, well. I have a plan, but I'll have to go over it with Ivan" Alex said, "now... What are you going to wear to the ball?"
"Umm, uhh..."
"Don't know, do you?" Alex said grinning.
"Well, do you?" Fern asked.
"Ughh, well..." Alex stuttered.
They both laughed.

Fern laughed lightly looking down at the city. She sighed, "I didnt' think I'd be here for the ball."

"Well, now you're going to be here."

Fern looked at Alex, "Yes, but at what price?"

Alex took her hand, "Don't worry about the thief. I told you I've got a plan."

Fern smiled, "Does Ivan know your plan?"

"Let's talk about something else."

Fern grinned pushing Alex playfully, "You jealous?"

Ok, I'm back. This will be the last time I post this week because I'm going out of Town.

As Emily walked along she started thinking, 'Will John really be there he acted strange when we talked on the street. Maybe something is wrong and he does not want me to know about it. I will try and see if I can find out anything.' Bringing her thoughts to present she said alound to herself "Now where is a fabric store? I still need fabric for my shawl." As she was thinking this she was walking by an ally. All of a sudden she was grabed from behind, whoever grabbed her put something over her nose and mounth which made her pass out. As she started to slowey slumb to the ground she manged a wisper "John help."

Half a day passed before Emily woke up, she had a splitting headache. Thinking out loud she asked herself "Where in the World am I?" All of a sudden a voiced anwesed her. "You are in my home." "What am I doing here?" asked Emily as she pushed away from a man who had stepped out of the shadows and grabbed her shoulders. "And let me go." The man let go of her and she fell back onto a hard bed. "I kidnapped you, because your father owes me something and you are the only way I can get it."

The day DID go by quickly. The day of the Ball came, and brought sunshine, and warm weather with it. Keisha dressed into the whitw gown that had been left fo her, and then tried to figure out what to do with her hair. She brushed her hair, until it was wavy, not curly. She desided to let it hang.
She did her makeup, but it was very light. She only wanted a little color, not loads of makeup. By the time she was done, it was an hour before the Ball.

About forty-five minuetes later, Marrco came, and escorted her to the Palace.

It was one day away from the ball, and Oridea and Kala decided to ask Emily to go with them together. The two of them walked down the nearly deserted street during the sunset time to Emily's home. It was then that they heard a yelling inside.
"Where's my daughter!" Emily's father shouted, his face worried and red from anger.
The target of his wrath was a honest faced young knight.
"John!" Kala burst out.
The two males turned about. Oridea quickly stepped in, "Hello uncle."
"Oh, hi Oridea," Emily's father said absently, his eyes on Kala.
John gave Kala a quick nod and turned his attention back to the raging father, "Sir, I just came from back from hunting. You can ask any of my friends - James, Angus.. I swear on oath, that I did not take Emily anywhere today."
On hearing such a solemn reply, Emily's father put out a hand on the wall to steady himself. It took some time for him to regain his composure, "My daughter hasn't been back since this morning. She promised to be back by the afternoon."
Oridea tapped her finger to her cheek. "Where had she been to?"
"She's gone out to the fabric shop to get some silk."
"Nowhere else?"
He shook his head.
"Come on," she said, hinting at Kala and John, "Uncle, we'll go find her now, you stay here and get a rest ok?"

Ivan followed Oridea and Kala out the door breathing a sigh of relief as he left Emily's father. Once a good distance from Emily's father Kala turned to Ivan, "You can't find Emily, John?"

Ivan shook his head, "I've looked every where. Maybe we should check the alleys."

Oridea and Kala paled, "The alleys? Do you mean..."

Oridea swallowed looking at Kala, "He can't mean it's possible she's been...killed. Can he?"

Ivan shook his head, "I don't think she's killed."

"But... but we can't go into those alleys! What if something happens to us?"

"I'll be there. Let's go."

Fern wandered the streets looking everywhere. Ivan had told her to be careful while she was out on the streets alone before he left in a hurry heading somewhere. He didn't tell her where. Father had sent her out this morning to buy fresh fruit and would be worried if she didn't return soon. Fern selected some apples and pears then started home.

Alex was walking down the street when he saw Fern, he dashed to her.

"Hey Fern, what are you doing?" Alex asked.
"Getting some fruits for Dad” Fern replied.
"Ah, no you don't" Alex said taking the basket from Fern.
"Thank you kind Alex" Fern said, partly blushing.
"You're welcome" Alex replied.
As they walked back then they saw Ivan and some others, Alex and Fern waved, and Ivan waved back, so they ran to Ivan.
"Hey Ivan wha-" Alex was cut off.
"I'm John" Ivan said winking and throwing a quick glance at the others with him.
"Oh, right. I had you mixed up with someone else" Alex said.

Oridea and Kala blinked looking at Ivan. Oridea spoke, "Ivan?"

Alex cleared his throat, "Sorry, I thought John was someone else."

Kala looked at Alex, "Hey, aren't you the deWinslette boy?"

"Alex."

Kala nodded, "Alex then. Who's your friend?"

Alex looked at Fern, "This is Fern. She's going to the ball with me."

Oridea smiled sweetly, "Isn't that nice. John we really have to get going. I'm worried about Emily."

Ivan nodded, "Of course. Let me speak with Alex deWinslette for a moment. I'll be right there."

Oridea and Kala walked ahead a few paces and stopped waiting for Ivan to join them. Ivan turned to Alex, "Now, keep Fern safe. The streets are full of bandits and robbers. I have to go look for Emily... Don't get yourselves into trouble now."

Alex nodded, "But what about-"

Ivan frowned, "Leave her up to me. Fern, Father will be expecting you back soon."

Alex puffed out his chest, "I'll protect her."

Ivan smiled, "I don't have any doubts. I must go."

Fern spoke, "John? Why the name John?"

"Some things are better kept secret, dear. Good day, I'll see you later tonight."

Diamond paced the cell for five minutes every day. She still had to awaite the trial and she felt her stomach tightening with suspense. She was fed daily, three times a day. Stale bread and water. She frowned I had better meals living on the street. The small flap near the base of the door opened and Diamond heard a familiar voice, "Rebekah? You in there?"

Diamond jumped scrambling towards the flap, "What are you doing here, Jack?"

She heard Jack breath a faint sigh of relief, "Never mind what I'm doing here. Are you all right?"

Diamond lay on her stomach looking out the flap at Jack, "I'm fine. A little lonely at times."

Jack smiled at her, "Well, it's good to know you're safe at least."

"But how'd you get in here? Surely the guards didn't let you just walk in."

Diamond saw the mischievous light in Jack's eyes, "I'm a thief, I can get in places no one thought possible."

"Did Ivan tell you where I was?"

Jack frowned slightly, "Yes, he told me."

Diamond felt her eyes fill up with tears, "I'm sorry, Jack."

"What for?"

Diamond sobbed, "A thief with one hand is no good. You should just leave me. I'll be nothing but a burden."

Jack stuck his hand through the flap and wiped the tears from her cheeks before taking her hand, "Listen to me, Diamond, you will not lose your hand. Not if I can help it. I don't know what kind of influence this Ivan has in the courts, but if all else fails I'll do something."

Diamond sniffled, "Like what?"

"I don't know, but I'll think of something."

 

[Grimr]

Jack stayed by Diamond half of the day. Jack you better leave I don't want you caught Diamond said through the flap in the door. It'll be a cold day in Hades before I leave you here Diamond I made a promise to myself when I took you in that I'd stay by you I consider you as my sister and I have an idea. What’s that? Simple you hide beside the door until the guard comes to check on you when he doesn’t see you he'll enter the cell you hit him over head with this jack bulled out a small metal hammer and passed it to Diamond as soon as he's knocked out give a whistle like a willow tree and I’ll get you out ok?

Diamond frowned, taking the hammer. He only likes me as a sister? What a disappointment. "I don't think I can do that, Jack. I mean, I might kill him then I'd be a felon. I don't want to have someone's blood on my hands."

"If you don't you won't have hands."

Diamond blinked back sudden tears and nodded, "Very well, I'll see what I can do."
