• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Ashlynne,

I too am have had issues with med addiction and it does stink! I could never get out of it or even move towards getting free until I started talking opnely about it with some close friends at Church and then I found a support group. I think it is important to have a Christ centered support group, but at the very least a 12 step process. Well, thats what works for me. Know that you are in my prayers:)

I got caught stealing my boyfriend's pain meds that he was taking after back surgery....I took about 40 of them (not all at once) and he ran out and the pharm. wouldn't give him anymore for a few weeks. He has forgiven me now...but I still feel bad about it :(

ashlynne, listen.in the long run when you can no longer get these(I guess this isnt a problem if your using over the counter) what will happen? is there any way you can ask for help without getting yourself so worked up you lose control? it starts small, then builds, takes more and more, and your liver is building those toxins too.i'd say lets pray but i worry that you are so much into this that you dont hear us.im just a cf person on the net trying to get you to hear the reality of this pain killer addiction. im not addicted but the guy i am best friends with is showing signs of it.he had an injury during a gym meet now uses vicoden, naproxin, ibu, percocets whatever he can use to mask things.I hope for things to change for you, your liver will begin to have problems eventually.please think about it.:prayer:
