You seem to have a lot of faith in the MSM’s reporting in 2021. You never struck me as the type to accept what they say as gospel. Why are you so sure they were right when they labeled Harris as “the border czar”?

It's a matter of MSM changing the narrative to accommodate the shift from Biden to Harris. It's basically the same as the narrative being changed overnight from Biden is perfectly fit to serve another four years to Biden isn't fit and needs to step down.

However, their claims are, at best, puzzling, considering that some of those same publications referred to Harris as the "border czar" or something similar in reporting that dates back to early 2021.

Axios drew particular criticism over a piece that seemed to contradict its own previous reporting, and it even updated its own story Wednesday by saying it "incorrectly" called her a border czar in the past.

In April 2021, The New York Times implied that Harris was taking over from Roberta Jacobson, who was widely known as the "border czar."

While "czar" is not an official title, the term has long been used as shorthand for someone overseeing a particular issue, policy, or department.

Why is this moniker important? We know that Harris was tasked with examining what was occurring at the border and coming up with things that might relieve some pain points, but "border czar" isn't a official title or anything, so what does it actually mean and why is it so important for it to be attached to Harris?

Axios has many articles referring to Harris as "border czar" but mostly from other conservative news outlets, but it says that Axios has referred to Harris as "border czar" previously also. In fact, I found the actual article that the tweet refers to. On Axios. It's from April of 2021. So, not deleted or scrubbed.

The moniker isn't important. What is important is that while media organizations were all too happy to call Harris the "border czar" 3 years ago, for some reason, they'd prefer to deal in historical revisionism and pretend like the moniker is now a "right-wing attack".

The distancing of Harris from the border and the sudden, "Hang on, that's not what we meant" from 3 years ago is dishonest. The only reason the media is trying to distance Harris from the moniker is because they know the border is an important issue for voters and most are pretty dissatisfied with Harris' handling of the situation. If Harris wasn't the presumptive Democratic nominee, no one would care.

You again point to exactly what she was slated to do. That she had no direct involvement with the border itself. Only the root causes of immigration. Thus pulling your own rug out from under your own feet.

This just gets weirder.

I know how to use the board. I just don't bother often with posts that require following a link to get anything out of them. (There are 3-5 of you who create all of these threads anyway.
