  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anyway, back to political bias in the media. Which news source do you all prefer, and why?

Since I contributed to derailing this, I'll try to help put it back on track. I was a political news junkie for decades, but the 2016 election really turned me off and I barely watch/read any news now.

My news consumption habits have followed my political views. I grew up in a slightly left-of-center Democratic household and voted strictly Democratic until Clinton's second term. At that time I watched mostly ABC News and read local papers.

Over the next few years I moved to the right (or did the U.S. move to the left?), voting a Democratic/Republican mix until by Bush Jr's 2nd term I was voting almost exclusively Republican. At that time I watched/read a mix of news from the PBS News Hour to Fox News, BBC, DW News and local papers along with The National Review, USA Today, TIME, etc.

By 2016 I had dumped both the Democrats and the Republicans. I now tend to vote independent, Libertarian, etc. I barely watch/read any news, but if I do it's a mix of The New Yorker, PBS News Hour, Chicago Tribune, and Wall Street Journal.
