Meaning of 'shekel of the sanctuary' in Exodus 30:24

Hello,

I don't know what 'shekel of the sanctuary' means in Exodus 30:24. Here is the verse:

(From the ESV) 'and 500 of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil'.

I have read up to this verse.

I found this reference:
Shekel of the sanctuary”: A shekel weighed about .4 ounce (Leviticus 5:15; 27:3, 25; Numbers 3:47; 7:13).

Basically, it is the recipe for the incense used in the temple. So I'm making an educated guess that there was a standard weight of a shekel in the sanctuary that the priests could measure weights of the ingredients for the incense.
